Saturday Morning..Oct. 15th..Having completed the log cabin quilt I showed you below, this is the next project using my endless supply of 1.5" strips. Saw this layout over at www.quiltville.com. One of Bonnie's masterpieces. I really, really like making the log cabin blocks using the corner square as the starting point. I think it's called Chimneys and Cornerstones. Seems to go much faster just adding one strip of a dark and then one strip of a light, vs. the two of each added in a regular log cabin block. Posted by Picasa

Love the Log cabin block -- I think I like that way of doing it best, too -- the usual log cabin block bores me to tears -- although I love the many ways to change it and always love the finished tops -- just the actual stitching part bores me -- I think Bonnie's way is more fun!
Can't wait to get back to some scrappy stuff. Although the ufo I'm working on is really scrappy -- so that helps!

Isn't this different and pretty! By the way, the advice you gave about my friend starting a 'blind blog' oh, I can't remember what you called it. We did just that though, and she is now in the blogger network. So, if she gets a chance to visit you, she goes by 'kindred spirit'. We are happy that she can post comments now. She is one busy lady with her grandchildren and works a couple of days a week too. Thankyou for solving that problem for her!
