I've got trouble here in Never-Never Land. And it's leaving me frustrated and discouraged. My old sad song is "my digital camera blues". Sure do wish they came with instructions..yes, yes, I know. That little 4"X 4" booklet...5 languages and I need a magnifying glass to read a single word of it.Yesterday I sat at the table with a mag. glass and tried to figure out why my pictures are blurred or smeary looking. I've been figuring it was my "color card"...that I had used it too much and it needed replacing. But then Susan from Patchwork Reflections mentioned that when she double clicked on the pastel bowties, all she got was a black screen and a tiny upper corner picture..so I tried it..yup....that's what you get.
It happens that the pic of the pastel bowties, is from a snapshot..so it can't be the color card in the digital.
What is a blog without pictures? Especially a quilt related blog. So as I worked with my older(pre digital) pics, I've cropped, enlarged, enhanced, etc. You get the "picture"....LOL. But they are CORRUPTING, right here on my blog...and I'm so depressed about it.
I checked back and many are turning black...it begins in the upper corners and spreads down the picture. It's happening to the digital and to the snapshots..and it breaks my heart. I hate seeing my quilts "that" way.One by one, as they turn black, I'm deleting the old posts....just so you know. I don't know if readers go back and re-check old posts, and I suppose it doesn't matter one way or the other.
I'm determinded to make "this" work...and it hasn't been without battles, struggles, defeats and accomplishments. If I have to, I'll buy a better camera...you gals are important to me, and I don't want to just read your blogs, or post clip art, or snapshots.
I'm going to change the batteries again, and take a few more pictures. I did find out yesterday how to "erase" the color card, totally, maybe that will help. I'm going to try posting a snapshot or two(regular camera) without the help I've been giving them. And maybe that that will stop the creeping corruption. Any advice is appreciated..*S*

Oh Finn! Can't technology be soooo frustrating. Wish I had a solution for you, but I"m not sure I know what is happening with it.
I don't have a clue, but I'll ask my son in case he has any idea. Someone must have the answer for you! It would get me down too. Hope your worries are soon over with this. Sending a hug your way dear Finn.
Maybe it is a blogger problem. If you are having the same trouble with digital and non-digital pictures, it cannot be your camera. How are you uploading the non-digital pictures? Scanning them? I was looking on the blogger Help section, you can upload 300 mb of pictures for free, that sounds like a lot, but maybe you met your limit?
It is confusing for me too....I haven't looked back into my old archives to see if the creeping crud is getting my pics too. Sometimes I wonder how blogger is dealing with the volume as it is.....?
I hope it isn't your camera. Have you sent pics to anyone personally via email to see how they come out on the other end? :c/

I'm no help, either, Finn. I would think it's a blogger problem though, not your camera.
Another thought - do you have a file with the pictures on your computer that you took from the digital camera? What do those pictures look like?
This is really a strange thing that's happening -- not that that is any help at all!
I'm technically inept, but it sounds to me like a computer problem. Is there a difference between pics you've uploaded thru Picasa and ones you did thru a different method?
Seems like your best bet is to get help from a local computer/technology savvy person. I'm so sorry this is happening - I love seeing your quilts.
