Oh yes, and then there are spearmint gumdrops...a favorite of mine *s*. I've worked hard today and am glad tomorrow is a 'new day with no mistakes in it' as Anne Shirley once said. I've been meaning to reread that series..better get to bed before I use the keyboard for a pillow! I just went to see if I could find the book I have about Laura Ingalls..couldn't find it but am half asleep. I'm thinking its a biography by donald zogart...can't you just tell I made up that name? Well, its something like that anyway. Have you ever read the "Leave It To Beany!" books by Lenora Mattingly Weber?Maggie Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04991999931680942893noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14458986.post-1136954085564317172006-01-10T22:34:00.000-06:002006-01-10T22:34:00.000-06:00I am not a green lover but buy it all the time bec...I am not a green lover but buy it all the time because it works so well with so many other colors. I don't think I own one piece of green clothing outside of my St patricks day shirt ! Now if you wrote about RED, that is a totally different story. I have red everywhere.Pattyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08505042214124811641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14458986.post-1136947457224270342006-01-10T20:44:00.000-06:002006-01-10T20:44:00.000-06:00I made my first quilt in high school...an orange a...I made my first quilt in high school...an orange and green drunkards path! I know I use a lot of greens, but having worn a school uniform for too many years that was green, I've never recovered. I continue to be "surprised" when I find how much green I use... I love the Hunter Green color that I used in the Heart Quilt and the Hexagon Flowers quilt.

I was actually sad to use up all of that material.

Interesting comment about it being hard to find a "good" green in the 70s and 80s. Nancy, would you tell me more?

DarilynHunterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01125852784624281411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14458986.post-1136918985685218232006-01-10T12:49:00.000-06:002006-01-10T12:49:00.000-06:00I like green too.... I think it goes back to my early days in quilting. Late 70s early 80s. A "good" green was very hard to come by so whenever Mama or I found one we bought enough for both of us. And it got to be such a habit that we did that for years. Now I have my stash and hers to. So lots of green. I think a scrappy green and cream/tan quilt is in my near future.Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03812156057009704007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14458986.post-1136905435970412882006-01-10T09:03:00.000-06:002006-01-10T09:03:00.000-06:00Well I love Green as well - so I like your idea of...Well I love Green as well - so I like your idea of making a green focus quilt!
