The Road To A Friend's House....is never long. And this is my house, created in fabric by my friend Betsy in October of 2002. I had sold my house in August, and was moving into a one bedroom senior
apt. I suppose one of the things we worry about is "will my stash fit?" And maybe alittle about "where is home?" Betsy made this for me and on the back it says "Home is where your fabric is", and she is right about that. I know the quilt looks very Freddy Moran, but Betsy has been doing these kinds of quilts all the way back to her beginnings in the mid 1980's. Her favorite color has always been orange..*VBS*..and she loves brights. I can testify that she does NOT own even one piece of BROWN fabric...LOL. And she has a HUGE stash...!
On a completely different note, I wanted to mention that our friend Paula of http://thequilter.blogspot.com/ is having trouble with Bloglines. It's not listing her posts and she hopes you will drop by and see what she is up to, even though Bloglines would have you believe she hasn't posted...she has!!
Today is a "run errands day" for me, and try to think about what comes next. I haven't been doing anything very exciting, just working on the blocks for my butterfly challenge..hope to have it done by next week. Well, the top, at least...*VBS* See you all later !

A very big "Thank you", Finn! {{hugs}}
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Dear Finn!
It will sure be nice when bloglines finally fixes itself. I thought it was fixed by Monday morning, but I see you've written a post today that it neglected to tell me about. :-( I'm going through my entire list of blogs and finding lots of them with updates that bloglines "lost". I will get to Paula's blog soon - as you can see I'm now on the "P" part of my list. I wonder if her problem is because of the beta version. I know bloglines didn't list the updates I posted this weekend, but I didn't get that error message and it is now posting mine again.
What a cute little quilt that Betsy made for you - and she is so right. I will never move anywhere that I can't take my stash, books and machines. Not without throwing the worlds worst screaming tantrum! How attached we get to this "stuff" - but then it's the way we express what's in our hearts and minds and souls.
Thank you for sharing those quilts - and the time you went through to make them. My heart goes out to you my dear - what an awful thing to have happen. Especially horrible that it took so long. You have such a wonderful attitude and outlook on it all. What would we do without our quilting to help us work through the bad times in our lives?
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your children. I'm glad you are going there so you can be pampered and you don't have to cook. You deserve it!
The house quilt is so cute. Bloglines and blogger have had more than their share of problems. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family!
:)
Haven't had to move with my stash yet and hope not to!
Happy holidays.
I love 'home is where your fabric is'!!!
Love the quilt too - very sweet of your friend Betsy.
Happy Thanksgiving to you Finn :)
I love the house quilt. What beautiful fabrics and colors! And what a sweet sentiment behind it.
PS. I love your divorce quilt. It is just beautiful, as is everything you show. But what a lot of memories and (release of) heartache are attached to it, No? Another beauty from Finn!
well, Betsy is a kindred spirit to me-what a perfect house quilt for you and what a true friend she is in your life! I know you will miss Ebby while you are enjoying your family for Thanksgiving-drive safe!
