The nitty-gritty about the UFO Challenge....

For anyone who wants to know, and to remind us veterns. The New Years Eve UFO Countdown is in it's 3rd year. We accomplished alot collectively by playing along with this challenge. The purpose is to try and clear the decks of some older(or newer)projects before we begin our next year of making hand crafts. I keep track and provide the updates and final tallies. What you chose, the number, the craft, it's all up to you. No one will check up on you..no quilt police. ALL hand crafts that need to be finished up are welcome. There are NO rewards or prizes other than the wonderful satisfaction of having it "done". As many say, "Done is better than perfect"! We are here to cheer each other on. It's a great chance to meet new quilters or greet new blogging friends. I'm merely the 'reporter' and stat keeper. You can post your choices and/or your finishes any way you choose. When you have a finish, either tell me in a comment or shoot me an email.
Given that we are starting later than the other years, give careful thought to how many projects you choose to pledge. You can always do MORE than your chosen number. Or it can be reduced down if you want or need that. The first year I chose 5 and finished 15. I didn't have BIG ones, and that makes a difference. This year I am choosing 5 again, and I'm a bit concerned, as I have one really BIG one. I also am planning on flannel pillowcases for each grandchild...read 15! And if time permits, one for each of my kids and their spouses. I'm not figuring those into my tally, but will give it my best shot at getting everything done! So, that's pretty much it. The logo is the the one from last year, and I'm feeling really "senior" since I can't remember who made it for us. Feel free to right click it and use it. You can link it back here if you'd like. It's not required. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to email me. Oh yes, anyone can join us, it's open to everyone and it doesn't have to be on this particular day or week.

I'll play along. Put me down for 3. They are all pretty big -- my DWR which I'm still handing quilting; Cream & Green quilt which is in the midst of machine quilting and the compass lone star which is somewhere in between.

I like the number 5 too...I need to put binding on three quilts before Christmas; borders on my vintage quilt and end out to longarmer; and baste and quilt my Baltimore Album leftovers. OK...5 starting now....

I, of course, am absolutely 'in like Finn!'

And furthermore, I've already started spreading the word...wow, the music to "New York, New York" just started playing in my head. So, I'm having Liza Minelli sing "New Years, New Years", instead!

Put me down for 10 projects...one a week to set my pace car on the track! Radio is on, Liza is singing...vroom, vroom, here I go!

I'm in! But I'm going to wimp out and say 2 projects. If I get more done, why so much the better!

I'm in for 3. I'd love to get 5 done but I'm trying to be realistic. I'm not counting the partially done Christmas presents since those are set in stone already.

O, Finn! Don't give me credit for the logo -- I've never made anything of the sort!

Just back from a trip to St. Louis to see our grands, so I haven0t counted up how many UFOs I WILL finish before the New Year's celebration. I'll get back to you soon with a number.

I'm in again. I'm going to match Michele again this year. I hope to get a couple extra done in there has well, however we are in the process of putting our home on the market, so I won't put those towards the tally just in case I don't get at them.

I loved this challenge last year, it was so much fun and I got so much done. Hugs

OH SIGN ME UP!
I was hoping for this challenge. My quilting room is a mess and it needs to be disciplined. Put me down for 5 also and I'll try for more.

Last year, I wimped out big time ... but count me in for this year. I have 3 to finish and this challenge will be good for the soul and get me motivated to at least attempt them.

I am traveling this winter, but I brought 2 UFO's with me to finish, so put me down for 2! Is 2 enough to be included? ~karen

How did I miss this post?? I only managed to complete 2 out of 3 that I pledged last year, so I'm going to stick with 2 for this year. I'm also going to challenge myself to get my sewing room in order too. *VBG*
p.s. That was me who designed the logo for last year, and I'm honored that you chose to use it again.

Hi, Finn; I'm in - again! Last year's challenge inspired me to finish more than I ever imagined and I'm hoping for the same this year as well. Please put me down for 4.
