Turkey Time....all across the USA, Alaska and Hawaii. It's turkey time even if you are having duck, roast beast, vension, or tofu. One special day in November to give gratitude for our freedom nd abundance. Most of us are so far removed from poverty, that we consider soup kitchens for the homeless to be the "extreme". And of course, it's not. But that would be another whole post, and I've misplaced my soap box..*VBS* I have few Thanksgiving decorations. My Harvest welcome, a ceramic pumpkin candy jar that comes out at Halloween, and stays awhile. Salt and pepper shakers(also ceramic and made by me) that look like Indian Corn. And this one wall quilt. I think almost EVERYONE has made this Country Threads pattern. I was given mine, as a pieced top, for my birthday many years ago. It sat around for awhile and then I machine quilted it and got it bound. It's nice to hang it up in November..*VBS* In about a week, I will replace it with Christmas. I'm wishing everyone who celebrates, a happy Turkey Time with family and friends...*VBS*
I snapped this one just a few minutes ago. This would be the "why crocheting takes time" photo op. My sweet Ebby, who obviously didn't get much play as a kitten or young cat, has become a
monster about things that move across the floor(or chair, bed, lap, table top, pretty much anywhere). She's decided every single one of them is a ssomething I am dragging around for her amusment!! And she's fierce about it!! She was frustrated because she has no claws, but quickly learned she could nab the cord with her teeth. And nab she does!!! And often walks away with it in her month. I know not to pull, don't want her to lose any of those nice teeth! She has been know to actually "bring" me a string or cord. Just drags it to where I am and drops it at my feet, so I can play with her. Help!!! I've created a monster!

But she is a cute monster!
She reminds me of my wonderful Burmese-Jake- She just never knew there was so much fun to be had before. At our Pantry we are cooking dinner for 90 this year..It's my favorite day next to the adopt-a-family give away day. Until you do this kind of thing you have no idea how great it can make you feel.Happy Thanksgiving to you and Ebby
As far as monsters go, she's a cute one!
I used to crochet a spiral cat toy that I tied to the end of a dowel. Chester just loved to play with that, but then he was the yarn kitty. Buddy was the quilt inspector.
I love that turkey quilt. It is really fun. Especially the turkey's! And Ebby is adorable. You have such a cute little buddy!
What a pretty kitty having fun chasing strings! Pippi likes rubber bands and the other day found a ring I had taken off a container of cider and was dragging it around.
That wallhanging looks familiar, LOL. Yep, one of the many in quilt land who made one up.
Hello Finn,
I see and read your blog every day (from Spain).
You have a lot of beautiful quilts of all sizes, and I know you love your cat. It's a nice cat.
Bye
The log cabin apples are cute - wouldn't have thought of doing that :-)
She sure is a cutie and not so camera shy any more. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
have a great Thanksgiving Day... Love your quilt and you little Ebby seems right at home and so happy..

You don't have a monster . . . you have a wonderful companion. Ebby is such a sweetheart. All she wants is love from you and she will give you love in return.
Here's my gratitude for my good blogger friend and her wonderful black monster. Thanks for the smiles. Katie and Kipper
Happy Thanksgiving to you Finn. Thank-you for sharing another beatiful quilt.
Although you say everyone has that Thanksgiving quilt pattern, I have never seen it before. Very nice! And I love the cat picture and story. I really miss my daughter's cat.. they used to live here, and I found the cat to be a nuisance even though I loved him to death. Now I just miss him! He was so cute with things that wobbled like yarn and anything else that appears to move.
Wishing you Happy Thanksgiving, Finn, and all the other ladies in USA and Canada!
Hi Finn
Happy Thanksgiving. I was just reading your November posts and had to laugh at the one about knowing you are a quilter when you sit down to eat freshly buttered toast.....and glance down as you bite....and there's a thread on it. Please may I use this in our quilt club newsletter? We try to have a 'quote of the month'each month and this is a goodie!
Cheers

Oh c'mon Finn - tell me you don't just love it...just a little bit!
What a cutie she's becoming! Having her kittenhood all over again :)
Happy Thanksgiving Finn--Ebby looks at home...
Your turkey quilt is gorgeous...what a great wallhanging this is. You must have such fun with your Ebby..I envy you her purrs.
Thank you so much for the Thanksgiving wishes :) I hope you had a wonderful one (I need to keep reading). I absolutely love your Country Threads quilt. I just might make one like it as it looks easy to duplicate pattern-wise.
Your Ebby sounds like a darling. One of our cats had a hissy fit this week while we were gone visiting our son. My mom came to feed the pets and this cat bit her, hissed at her, and swatted her every chance he got. I got quite a chuckle when I heard of it. Of course that means he loves *me*.
And finally.. I'm still thinking back to your Laura Ingalls quilt. Did you know I am related to Laura Ingalls - sortof? See if you can follow this -- my husband's sister's husband's uncle's grandmother was Liza Jane Wilder who was, of course sister to Almonzo who married Laura. That's my fifteen minutes claim to fame. Hehe.
Okay, enough already :)
gobble, gobble ...hope your turkey day was just right. love the Ebby photo!
Love the Country Threads hanging. Have several of their books, but I think I've only made one of the quilts so far!! :)
That's no monster -- she's a partner in crime *s* You two are having such fun getting to know one another and I'm enjoying seeing it from the sidelines. Hope your turkey day was a good one filled with family, friends and good food. I have come across that Country Threads pattern a couple of times -- I am going to have to make it sometime. I enjoy it more each time I see it.
But you love every minute of it - I know you do! Funny how she loves to play as an adult - so many cats do not. Our grandkitty Mara at Rick's and Rebecca's wants nothing to do with string, but she'll chase a reflection on the wall or floor for a long time. When it is sunny Fred has a ball making reflections with his watch crystal for her to chase.
