Another sultry July day here in Wi. Best place in the world to be is inside with the AC doing it's job.
Reflecting on days gone by...long gone by..how DID we manage without AC? I had wanted to attend the Northern Wisconsin State Fair yesterday, Seniors Day, but the 91 degree temperature, and the 70+ % humidity were all the help I needed to stay home. That and central air..*VBS*
Heard from my younger sister yesterday, a real shock, after months and months of silence. She is working on family tree and had exciting news to share. Has been a strange 24 hours since I found her in my mail box. We are 7 years apart in age, light years apart in understanding each other. Two very different people sharing a common history for about 11 years. When I left for college, and then marriage a year later, she was 11 and my youngest sister was 7. For almost all of their growing up time, I was already gone. We are now trying to get acquainted and know each other as women. It's challenging. We have the shared history of growing up with our parents, and yet the time frame in which it exists is a small one. By the time I was going on 11, with a 4 year old sister and a newborn sister, what I mostly wanted was to "be gone". But now, at 64, I'm grateful for any family member to share things with.
I spent the morning at the sewing machine, as I often do. The project moves closer to completion, but it's just one of many projects. I have a difficult time seeing one thing through from beginning to end. Since it doesn't matter to anyone but me, I don't worry about it anymore.
