If I had time to make
All the quilts in my head,
I've have all the walls covered
And twelve on each bed.

There'd be quilts put in baskets
And folded on chairs,
Quilts stacked on tables
And hung on the stairs.

I'd love all that planning,
The cutting, the sewing.
I'd love choosing the fabrics
And especially love knowing..

That I've quilted myself
A connection to pass,
Stitching pieces for my future
With pieces from my past.
