A red and white snowball quilt for Dec. 2nd..this began as a handpiecing project in the early '80's. I was part of a stitching group and needed something to work on. I ran out of the one red, and patience. Substituted in a different red with blue flowers print, and finished piecing it on the machine. It is 41" X 41" with 2 borders. 6.5" blocks..hand quilted.

I have that pattern somewhere. I've always like red and white or blue and white. Hmmm...one of these days I'll have to take a picture of my quilt thats so close to being done I must be crazy not to finish it. I shouldn't admit it but I used curtain fabric (I think it was) for my print fabric. The lady who taught me to quilt came over to the house and helped me pin it on the quilting frame. My daughter ran to the store to buy batting and they only had really thick batting and she brought it on home for us to use. Well, that was really hard to get the needle through and I got discouraged along the way. sorry to take up your time telling this !! I'll blame it on sleep deprivation..ok?

I like that blue border on there. I can understand getting fed up with hand-piecing this one - too many straight lines that are so easy to do on the machine.
