Saturday, Dec. 10th...warmer and snowing. I'm up to my elbows, literally, in flannel pillowcases for the grandsons. Not only will it be an extra present to open, it'll be a warm and soft one. All but 2 of them are too old for stuffed animals..*S*..but the flannel pillowcases are well accepted. Today I took a quick pic for you of one of two Aunt Gracies 9 patch-Friendship Star quilt tops that need to be either basted or tied. The pic shows one-fourth of the finished top. It's about 60" X 70". The other is done in red, white, blue and yellow, and is pretty much the same layout. I've been attempting to get that Aunt Gracies bin "finished off" and out of here. The young gals love Aunt Gracies type baby quilts and I have made about a dozen of those. Right now those fabrics fall into the "what was I thinking" catagory..LOL It amazes me how far FQ's go when you want them to be used up!!!

Finn: That's such a cute quilt. I never got into the Aunt Gracies fabrics but I do love the quilts made from them.
Flannel pillow cases sound so cozy! Anything flannel sounds great right now!

Finn -
What a cute quilt! I love the Aunt Gracie fabrics for a baby quilt. Looks old fashioned!
Thanks for sharing!

Oh finn that is such a cute sweet quilt. So do the stars go in a pattern or just every other type block - I love that idea for a baby quilt!
You have so much fun stuff!
You've been busy, Finn. I love this quilt!
The quilt is so cheerful and cute. The yellow is so bright and sunny. :)

I love the effect of the friendship stars turning that direction -- I usually see them the other way, and its just enough "surprise" to catch my eye...
flannel pillowcases are wonderful aren't they? THis year my mother says she's making my teenage son some from polar fleece -- he's so lucky!
Great idea on the flannel pillowcases. I think I'll have to do that next year!
And the Aunt Gracies are something I *do* like, but I'm quite tired of them recently. I thought I was just about out of them all, and then dear sweet hubby stopped by a quilt shop and bought 9 different ones in ONE YARD pieces! Sheesh!
And the quilt is sure happy!
I'm not a big fan of 30's prints but I could sure see this done in my batiks. Yet another quilt I just HAVE to do!
Your flannel pillow cases are a great idea, Finn! Who doesn't like a fun pillowcase, no matter the age or gender!
Your Aunt Gracie quilt is cheery looking...but I do know what you mean. Do you think the FQs multiply at night when you're not looking? ;-)
Thanks, Finn, for your nice thoughts about my quilts, and for your encouraging hug. Today was a much better day. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Great quilts, Finn. It is amazing how far scraps go -- I think they breed in the cabinets and drawers! I don't have many Aunt Gracies fabrics though.
I'm thinkiing you're as organized and prolific as Bonnie in getting quilts done!
That quilt looks so much like the AG "charm" quilt that I have been working on.... (Mine doesn't have the stars....) I too am trying to get it out of here. I am ready to trim some scraps into 2.5 x what ever for binding....
