Thursday, Dec. 8th..Since DD#1 was home on Tuesday, I asked her to bring the Christmas quilt I gave her last year. I hadn't taken a picture of it and wanted to share it with you gals..*VBS* It's my "Christmas Cards" quilt. I used the card tricks block and fabrics from a swap. The fabric age ranges from early 1980(the blues and some of the reds and greens) to the early 2000's. Backing and lattice came as a piece shared from a gal's stash. She had her friends share out her fabric to her guild members....sad, but still it is nice to have it as a memory of her. Machine pieced, hand quilted. 2004

I LOVE THIS! Card tricks is my favorite block. I have a variation I love that's kinda like a drunkards' path meets card tricks. I used it in a small sampler I made years ago and have plans to one day make a whole quilt from just that block. I'll have to dig around and see if I can find a picture.
Oh now I have never thought to do a scrappy novelty card trick quilt! Those cute little xmas prints are soooooooo cute in there! I love it. Finn you always have something fun for me to see everyday! I love all the fun viewing over here!
What a great quilt. You have completed so many beautiful quilts. I'm going to get off the computer and get to work. ;)
Christmas Cards...what a great name for this quilt! It's beautiful Finn, how did you ever give it away? :o)
Thank you gals for all your kind commments. I really like making quilts, and I really like making them look scrappy, even if they aren't from scraps. Christmas Cards just seemed like a good name for that quilt..*VBS*
I love this, too! Big pieces, works up faster, I might even be able to accomplish something like this. Thanks for sharing.

MMMMMM hmmmmmm! Love it love it love it. Love the scrappiness of it too! So happy.
funny, my GF was working on card tricks at our min-group yesterday.... I like that block, but have never done it... I really like the way Doreen Speckman stretched them and added "rounds" to the original block...
