A very scrappy 9 patch. I used up pieces of left over black as the lattice. It varies in color, but doesn't seem that noticable in this quilt. Of course I have difficulty "seeing" black, and one of the pieced together to get it long enough lattice, is sewn in upside down..LOL. With the seam on the top of the quilt. Betsy noticed it when we were basting this one. Too late now! The border is leftover 4.5" "lights" with 2.5" left over squares sewn and flipped. Machine pieced, utility quilted with perle cotton. For you non-quilters, the PVC pipe is the top partof my Q-Snap quilting frame. Posted by Picasa

Finn - I do like the black latice to break up all the colors! And I love the little triangles on the border you used! It is wonderful!

Beautiful quilt. And the one that is "upside down" is just your signature spot that makes it unique.

(Can you tell I appreciate random accidents that make something even more special?)

Finn,
LOL at the seam that's on the outside! I love it that you are leaving it! I would too! ;o) Love the scrappy 9P!

Thanks for sharing your border technique - I don't think I've seen something like that before.

I like this quilt. I have been wondering what to do with my HODGEPODGE of fabrics... why I ever abandoned calicos that go together perfectly well for... abstracts... I don't know!

This quilt works so well with a big variety of fabrics!

Cheers!

I like your scrappy quilts.
I have bought new fabrics for my quilts, but nowadays I have evan scraps enough to make some by myself, too. And one day I will. It is a pleasure to see, how wonderful scrappy quilts can be! :)

Great quilt -- I love the border. And, I've done that piecing a part and then putting it in upside down -- only I did catch it in time to change it. But, like you, if I hadn't, it's called folk art and I meant to do it! LOL

Hey there Finn - this gives me an idea on how to use up my charm squares. I like the black - never woulda thought to use it. Love your ideas :)

The black does a great job of off setting the nine patshes. Way to use up stash!

ooh, ow, finding the seam when you're basting. Yeah, think I'd have to leave it too. Maybe use lots of Fray Check on it. Fun quilt tho - black always looks good.

Finn -

Glad to hear that I am not the only one who notices mistakes in my quilts until it is way too late! Remember the wonky house window that had to become a basement window? Thanks for sharing another great scrappy quilt!
