Well, it's taken the better part of two weeks, but I "sort of" back in the saddle on what needs finishing. I can raise my hand and swear an oath, that I am the world BEST begginer, and WORST finisher of projects! This is a wedding quilt for someone who got married in 2001. Can you believe I'm still snail pacing along on it??? Yup..should be ashamed of myself..and I am(very red faced grin). I have packed up ALL of UFO's but 5. They are stuck out of sight and out of mind til I finish up the first 5 on the list. I managed to get 5 done that way in Nov. into Dec...hope it will work for this whole year. Discipline...I'm sadly lacking in that. Anyway, got 12 more of these blocks made yesterday and more 2" strips cut for it. I'm headed for queen size and I have a ways to go. If I get the daily quota done, I can play in something else..*VBG* I'm hoping this one can go for longarm quilting by summer. Hope you all are having a great day! Posted by Picasa

discipline can can be so overrated Finn!*vbs* still, if sticking to 5 ufos at a time works-hey more power to you-so how many blocks make up the daily quota? your log cabin blocks are pretty-queen sized -whole lot of blocks ahead?
hope you get to play today! hugs

Good idea, putting them all away until you get those five done. That way they won't be as tempting. Keep up the good work and I love the autumn colors in the log cabin!

I love the fall colors! What kind of border are you doing?

I have a cross stitch that I started for a friend's 17th birthday. She is 35 now and it is no nearer to being done. LOL.

Finn, the colors are beautiful...my favorites! Don't worry about the UFOs, their time will come. That's what I keep saying about an embroidered table cloth I have. I started it when I graduated from high school in 1979. This was going to be the first thing in my hope chest. I married in 1985 and didn't live in a house with a dining room until 1999. Did I finish that tablecloth yet? NOPE! Only have one corner of it done! And now we've changed the dining room into a computer room because we never used it. Its time will come...

Nothing in the mail yet, but I'm still waiting and watching every day! :c) The log cabin blocks are going to be stunning. I never tire of them and the different ways they can be set :c)

Your work is great. Maybe some of the leaves I am sending will end up mixed in.

I could give you a run for your money on that beginner vs. finisher race! I know we should do better but the world hasn't stopped turning yet because of all my UFO's and I'll bet nothing serious happens if we keep starting more than we finish. It's supposed to be fun, right? So, I'm having fun!

Queen-size? Aiyee - there's the problem with getting things finished. If you only ever work on bitty little quilts you can finish em off easier :)

Very nice colours. And I like the effect of using only one light fabric

It was great to "catch up" with you by reading your blog this morning. I've been a little out of touch lately. :-( I love the colours you've choosen. I cna't even imagine strting a queen size quilt. The whole cloth that was that size that I did for myself took 7 1/2 years or so...

I love the tilted squares a couple of posts ago too.

Considering ALL you manage to accomplish, Finn, I wouldn't say you are a starter and not a completer! And I love these colors. If the couple divorces before you finish it, please make a king size and send it to me! LOL!

How skillfully you put those beautiful fabrics together. Life is so busy, I have gobs of things started with pleasure and feel cheated a bit when I come across them years later unfinished. I always wondor how I got sidetracked. But, believe me, dear Finn, the huge amount of finished things you have done...well, compared to me...lets just say thats one of the reasons I enjoy your blog so much. Its like visiting a quilt shop where all the pretties are hung for display and for me to admire and ohh and ahhh over. Happy day to you!
