I apologize for the poor picture quality. This is what happens when you don't get a picture before the quilt leaves your house. Several of you commented about the yellow background in my RR crossing top(below). I often use yellow as a background..you just saw it in the Sawtooth Star for baby Grant. Sandra showed a couple of her bowtie quilts and it got me thinking. I love the bowtie pattern...and make it frequently. With this baby quilt(for baby Dominic) my DD decided to give the quilt to the GRANDMA instead of the mom. It lives at Grandma's house..*VBS* One of the things you see in this bowtie, is that I add a 1.5" strip acaross the top of the first bowtie, and across the bottom of the second ooe, etc. It gives them a bit of a "dancing" look...staggered. Also makes the quilt just a tat bigger..*G* Since we didn't know what the baby would be, I just went with spring colors and the yellow(with baby chicks) background.

cute quilts! cute babies too :) And that's a great idea for Grandma's having quilts at her house. My friend once told me that her fondest memory of her Grandma was as soon as she got to her house, she ran and got our "her" quilt. So, with 3 grandkids and one on the way, I have quilts made for each grandchild that are just for them. And they know which one is which too.
OH I like that idea of the little spacers. It really does look good like that!
gorgeous baby quilts (and babies)- gotta love that yellow :-)
