LOVE is a four letter word. In any language, it holds a certain significance for someone or something we feel strongly about. We say "I love my dog", or "I love quilts" and we know what we mean by that, altho others might not understand. They don't have to, it's MY love I'm talking about to them, not theirs. It's up to us to know what love means. And if not that, then at least, know what you mean when you say "I love you".Love comes in so many forms and at so many levels. You can't just lump love into a pile, and have it covered. It needs to be more specific, especially today...Valentine's Day. A day for lovers and for lovers of love.and maybe romance too. But can you sort through it all, and dig way down deep and know who...in the whole world...you LOVE the most???? Cause it's ok to do that...*S* We don't need to tell anyone WHO that special love is.....but I'm going to. I'm going to tell you, in the whole world, the person I LOVE the most is Gramma Lottie. My mothe's mother, whom you meet in a photograph a couple of days ago. She was the second daughter, and born in 1882. She married and had 4 children, the youngest was my mom, the only girl. This is the Gram who lived with us, almost my entire childhood. She outlived all but one of her children, living into her mid 90's. She's been gone now, for many years, but my love for her is a candle burning in the window of my heart. Steady, strong and true. If I had red paper and a lace doily, she's the one I'd make a valentine for, today...*VBS* Happy Valentine's Day Posted by Picasa

Ohhh, how sweet. Made me wish I had a picture of my Grandma Paasch to share! She lived with us while I was growing up and was Aunt Mary's sister. How I miss her.

How nice to show such devotion to a grandparent. I did not grow up close to mine so I have only limited memmories of them, special but limited. Have a great Valentines Day.

It's precious that you had such a closeness to your Gram. I'm sure she had a lot to do with who you are today.

Happy Valentine's Day, dear Finn!

Glad to see that you're so busy. How is your eye?

Happy Valentine's Day, Finn.

I love my husband. I mean TRULY love him with a deep love not just born from the familiarity of almost 30 years together. And I loved my Granny Sykes, my Mothers' mom. And my Pop Turfitt, my Dad's dad. They were both so special to me as I was growing up and it just about broke my heart when I lost both of them.

But I would have to say my most loved person would have to be my Mom. She was a great Mom to grow up with. The one all my friends wished was their mom. Strict but fair. I must have told her I hated her a million times when I was growing up and she wouldn't let me do something. But I didn't mean it and she was wise enough to realize that and love me no matter how difficut I was to get along with. And them when I got older and wiser she became a great friend. There's rarely a day that goes by that does not bring a thought of her to mind. Mostly happy thoughts of things I see that I wish I could share with her. And sometimes it hits me hard when I realize I can never share these moments with her again. But life goes on so I tuck those precious memories inside and pull them back out when I need a bit of comfort from my Mom.

I had a Gram like yours too. She lived with us and it was such a blessing. Its sad now that people don't make thier homes " A Home for Grandma" too. Its such a loss to the grandchildren. When we have such a strong influence in our lives such as a special grandma, it makes us strive to be that kind of woman to our grandchildren. It is a legacy !

that's so sweet. I loved my Grandma's too. And I sure hope my little granddaughter will say that about me one day. She does not, and I hope it never ends!

I am sure your Gramma Lottie feels the same way about you and is very proud of you today, looking down on you and all your beautiful quilts and basking in your beautiful words about her. Thanks for sharing.
