Pieces From the Past....on a sunny Wednesday morning in WI...greetings to all my blogger friends. At the time I pieced this wall hanging I didn't know the name of the block. Since then I've discovered its called Road to Jerico(spelling?). I liked that it made the arrows. It's a simple 9 patch turned into a square in a square with triangles. Probably the biggest difference is that you MATCH the triangle to the piece of 9 patch that it is touching. I think it would make a great baby quilt. I didn't use a design wall..and if I had the balance of lights probably would be better than it is. The block finishes at 8". Which means the 9 patches finish as 5.5". I worked with 2.25" squares to get the 9 patches that size. The quilting is inside each colored piece, and a line of cross hatching through all the black squares. The little bit of red you see in the upper right is the quilt that was on the back of the loveseat...LOL. The wall hanging is bound in a dark green and black stripe.

Your wall hanging "Road to Jerico," is beautiful with all those bold, colors. I also like the arrows, but I also like the dark pattern of the dark squares. Truly, it took some patient and good eyesight to make this. It is just beautiful...*VBS* Thanks for sharing.
Finn I like the dark fabrics. I think they really add to this quilt!
What a lovely quilt.
(snicker)Do you think it would look good in leaf prints with cocoa brown for the solids? You have no idea how glad I will be when I send you that bundle of leaf print pieces! Send the address!
ooo baby - love this one too!
Love your "Road to Jerico," Finn! It's very "me."
Isn't it fun how one can never tire of some of those traditional patterns: Log Cabins, 9-Patches, etc. Just alter the colorway a bit, and you've got yourself a new quilt!
Finn,
Thanks so much for this pick. I've been searching for a pattern to use for my son's 1st birthday quilt and this is perfect since he seems to be able to go in all directions at once.
Great quilt and thanks for the inspiration.
