Another shot of the backing. I quilted this one on the diagonial line through each block. It has a light weight wool batting, and yes, it does quilt like a charm. The wool batt predates the ones that are used now. No cheese cloth or scrim, just a light wool batt from a woolen mill locally. I don't know what will happen when I wash it.

wash in cold water Finn...the trick is to not put it in the dryer...and maybe not agiate it much...my wool batts seem to fare just fine this way...have to wait for warm weather to wash and dry outside that's all. what a wonderful quilt..well worth your time to hand quilt and finish it your way.

What tiny little quilting stitches...how beautiful! I love that you finished this quilt...it is certainly a treasure deserving of your love and attention.
