The Cake Stand, revisited....here is the completed top, ready to send for donation..*VBS* I showed you the blocks back on the 5th of March, but felt the assembled top deserved a "look see". There are 24 blocks and border, so the top is now 40" X 60". It actually was alot of fun, and I got some pastel stash used up cutting the triangles. It's the very last of that yellow floral I used for borders...hurray!! Hope you all have a very "quilty" weekend. Posted by Picasa

Love this quilt (and I don't usually go for pastels). Enlarging the blocks with triangles has worked really well. Which luck cause will get your donation?

Those blocks turned into a very pretty quilt. I like the way you increased the size by the triangles - I guess that would work for heaps of different blocks. Great job :-)

Oh yes! This finished quilt top definately deserves a "look-see". It is sooo sweet. I just so happen to have a stack of 6" sawtooth stars and I might have to try your method of "growing" a block - love the effect!

Cheers!

Great cake stands. I made four of these blocks last month for a small wall hanging, but got caught up on that bottom triangle piece. I just need to dig back in and get them finished! I love how you added the corner triangles! Beautiful!!!
