Remember that old saying, "you can't bake a cake without breaking a few eggs?".......well, there is a price you pay for shopping in your stash. Pulling out what you hope will work, cause you're on a low or no fiber diet. I pulled many pastel yellows, a few pink, peach and blue to complete the cake stand top. And something blue for a border on the bow ties. And some backings and bindings, and did I mention I couldn't resist starting some thing "string"? And a pieced border for the RailRoad crossing? And that neat one at Bonnie's with the 3.5" squares sewn to the 2 rectangles..can't remember it's name? Oh, and an all pink bow tie top?? Hmmmmm.........thought maybe I forgot to mention a few of those.....*G* IF this was ALL the mess, it wouldn't be bad, but the rest of the room looks like Hurricane Sam made land fall right here in WI.

Finn...
Bless you! This is me too...I just can't seem to do anything without making a huge mess that is then forgotten about for awhile as I work on the new project. A catch-up day looms overhead. Am trying to not put those off so long. Guess we please ourselves if we just keep trying to improve. VBS!
your mess, puts my neatness to shame...
Finn, this is still 10x more organized than my fabric shelves will ever be.... Fun to look at all your fabric.
Now I miss not having a stash. I can only imagine how much fun it is to sit in your own home and fondle so many beautiful fabrics.
And I wish my space was even half as organized as your space.
Thanks for sharing the pictures. I'm going to go "window" shop in your stash now.

Heck that happens at my house even when I'm not shopping my stash!!!!
This was how mine looked a few days ago, but spent a day clearing up and I can now start creating again LOL.
How funny! This is SO me too! Especially when searching for borders, binding...or alternate block fabrics...leave no folded fabric unturned!
I am also in a very stringy mood. Tell me what you think about doing bow tie blocks...with crumb-pieced bow sections? I'm thinking 6" size or so...So the bow parts would be cut from crumbs I sew together, but the backgrounds would be a shirting or something. Crazy bow ties? Hmmmm?? I bought a template at Joanns with a 40% off coupon...with good intentions. Haven't tried it yet.

I'm laughing about how one fabric "find" leads to another and another ... and before you know it, more UFOs have been hatched. This is all too familiar ... sigh.
Jeanne :)
Wow...I wish I had all that material to make things with...I'd love to go through your stash.
Thanks for sharing and I'm going back to get a better look at your material.
You must create a mess before order, that has got to be some law of physics, I am sure of it. Must be, yeah I am sure it is....
Okay so I'm salivating. Is it the talk of cake or a stash? I have neither at the moment unfortunately!
Love your colours - a very pretty, if a little messy, stash :)
how brave of you to share your "mess" Finn *vbg* I am sure you are going to discover-yours is not the worse, and of course there are many much more tidy. I think it's wonderful to pull and follow the fabric trail-hope you are able to follow up that inspiration soon!
