Hello...my name is Dot. I live with Finn and her bears. I'm not Goldilocks, but they don't seem to mind. An email arrived this morning from Katie, of Mismatched Quilter. Katie has been among the "missing" from bloggerland. She had a family emergency, got that taken care of, returned to Florida and had her computer "fry" itself. Poor Katie! She emailed Finn to say that she is back in Michigan. The computer is fixed but her blog is GONE as is her email address. She's trying to get her old blog back. Katie is having knee replacement surgery in a few days. I have an email address for her. I think it will be ok with Katie, to give it to those of you that Finn KNOWS , who read her blog. She's been able to follow our blogs, and has left me a comment so maybe she has left one on your blog also. Don't know if that gives you a link to her email or not. Katie, let Finn know if you don't want Finn to share your email, Finn will hold off til she knows. Some of us will want to be sending you a get well message or best wishes with our hugs and prayers And now I'm wondering....has anyone seen my shoes????? Posted by Picasa

nice post Finn- those pesky shoes are always getting lost, so tiny to keep track of! hope your friend Katie sorts her blog out-it should still be safe with blogger I would have thought...oh well-I am not a good enough geek to know for sure.

Ya know Dot, my only doll's with shoes are the porcelain ones that I made before I learned to quilt. (My antique porcelain doll is shoeless...) Maybe Finn can make you some shoes....

Ditto what Cher said about blogs being safe in blogger - but if the e-mail is gone.... (I had a hard time getting to my blog when I was not on my regular computer...)

Dot is cute. My SIL is having knee surgery too on the 10th of this month. Hope all goes well with your friend & fellow quilter...they work wonders nowadays with that knee replacement surgery.

My brother always tells me to back everything up because blogger is just a program like any other and your blogger files are not permanent...because it's FREE it can be discontinued at any time & files can get lost or deleted accidently...The web pages that you pay for are permanent, as long as you pay the monthly bill.

I have noticed that some blogger files have remained intact and dormant for several months.

It seems that as long as you have your user name and password that she should be able to get into her blog regardless of the change in her email.

I was able to log on using someone elses computer and make some changes to my blogsite when I was away.
The blog login page was different than mine and so was the inside of blogger...I couldn't recognise anything other than my name. It's funny how blogger is so different when using someone else's computer.

OMG that reminds me to back up all of my blogger entries in case it just disappears one day! Poor Katie. Smooth sailing from now on I hope!

Finn: Thanks so much for thinking of me. Yes please share my yahoo address. It is also listed with my new (I hope temp) blog site I had to open to be able to post. (Click on my name) My problem now seems now to center on changing internet providers. That was necessary when I returned to MI and shouldn't have been a problem but..blogger doesn't seem to recognize me now. I think they will be able to help me as my site is still there. I just can't get into it, but will have to wait my turn for personal help. How can you back up your blog? I never could get it onto my hard drive. I'm thinking of getting a geek to set me up one I can save on my hard dirve. Oh, these blogs are great but also very frustrating to
us whose only childhood method of communication was a phone on the wall that had an operator to help you. :)
