In reality, this is the bow tie row..not the chicken row..LOL. Over the years, Betsy and I learned 3 different ways to make bow ties. We began by knowing the traditional method. Then came the EZ method with the sew and flip knot. A year or so later we learned to do the 3-D method. Sooooo, she gave me all 3 in this row. She also dedicated much of the fabric in this quilt to my love affair with polka dots...yes, I'm dotty!!. You can see a bit of a spacer row below the bows, and a spacer row of single piano key type pieces above. I didn't shot a seperate picture of the mile a minute row..which is above the little squares, but yes, that was a lesson we shared with each other too. The chicken on the left is my favorite thing in the whole quilt...gotta love those legs!

Now I'm going to have to go google construction methods for bow tie blocks ... lol
Three ways, really?
Oh this quilt is just too fun - but I have to admit - my favorite block so far is that chicken on the left! You have to love that chicken!
Yes, another fan votes in favor of the chickens. But I love this quilt. The fact that you two were learning techniques together and you can see them all in there. Excellent. I love that Roberta Horton book too.
That chicken has lots of class...she's no wallflower..smile. I noticed those swanky legs..and like'em.
