Sunday Sewing....yesterday was a windy, rainy day in WI, but I can't complain. Not after hearing of the terrible storms that hit the midwest below WI. I hope all our blogger friends in Missouri, Tenn, ILL, and surrounding states are safe and dry. I did alot of cutting and basic piecing yesterday to get the Sawtooth Star up and running for my next quilt. But being the "bad" Finn you all know me to be, I can't quite do "just" that...LOL. This block, called Depression, from the 1930's has been beckoning to me. So of course I had to run a few(just a few, honest *G*) parts of it through the machine with the star points...LOL. This block is made up of 16 HSTs and each is 3" finished. I have one block all joined up and keep adding pairs to the 2nd block. The little yellow ducks on blue is just a piece of fabric for "staging" the block picture.

I love these blocks! I like the scrap blocks alot that work together with other blocks to make a strong geometric design through the quilt. I'd love to see the whole quilt once it's all made up.
very nice and scrappy so I can see why you were itching to try this. Glad you explained about the yellow ducks though---I thought at first glance that you were doing something "divide and conquer" method
Great , this is just great !
This is one of my favorite blocks, too, Finn, because it looks so scrappy done up. Me too, for the cookaburra song!
I like the block too. :)
How many blocks are you going to make? I have this 'thing' about drawing all my quilts in EQ and making really agonizing over the layouts lol
