Thursday Thoughts....a rubbermaid, tote size, of scraps that need to be cut down..or used! They have been packed down and packed down so I can get the top to stay on. I fluffed them up some for the picture. Nothing very exciting happening here. I'm doing my daily quota of sawtooth stars for Sam's quilt. Went wild on Tuesday and bought some new furniture..*VBS*. I've been in need of a new mattress and box spring, but I can put things off almost forever. And as long as I had to shop, I made the delivery charge worthwhile by buying a new dining room table and chairs and a china cabinet. They will be delivered the Saturday before Easter..hurray for new stuff!!

It is going to look a lot different around your house with new furniture! Just in time for family visits for Easter?
Your tote looks about what I had to cut through in January--packed to the gills and took me 3 days of serious cutting. But I'm reaping some rewards lately for doing it!
Sounds like you are going to have a new place to live with all the new furniture you purchased. What a neat way to start spring. Is that called spring cleaning. I love the picture of you sister.
Wow all that new furniture is exciting. What a way to do your spring cleaning. :o)
Sounds like a wonderful shopping trip to me...*vbs* Won't your home be looking special for Easter indeed. We've been looking for dining room chairs it seems like forever. We have an antique table with lots of leaves...(is that the right kind of leaves spelling??) and we only need chairs. Maybe this summer at the flea markets something will turn up but...I'm tired waiting. Aren't I bad!
That looks like a fun treasure chest. :)
I hope you'll show a picture of your new furniture when it arrives.

Whee new furniture. Chez Scrapbag will be looking all new and smart.
My problem is... how do you decide what size to trim to? Say you have a 24 inch long strip that starts 4½ inches thick at the top, but angles down to an inch at the bottom. Using the sizes in Bonnie's scrap system, (I bow to her experience) do you trim to 1½ and have a longer strip, or 3½ and have a strip that's only a foot long?
I'm really not envying this tote of yours. Only cuz I know that I have a couple about like that. It's not the cutting that I mind so much...it's the pressing first. I must be OCD about cutting anything that is crinkley.
Good luck! You're going to get tons of strips and maybe even nickel squares? Lots of seed for new quilts!
Now, if you had cut those strips BEFORE you put them away, then you would have more time to enjoy dreaming about where all that new furniture will go! Sounds heavenly!
Forestjane's question-I would cut the strip of the 1", then go to the next size up on that angled strip until I couldn't cut anymore. And yes, I have lots of strips that aren't the full width of the fabric. Now I just have to start using them!
Finn - how will YOU cut them?
You don't muck about do you Finn? Ooh you'll have to post some photos when it arrives!
