Three D bow ties, with the raised knot. The bows and the background are regular fabric, the setting fabric with the stars is flannel. It's something I do quite often. Whenever I feel like it, as a matter of fact..*VBS*
Boy, the one time I was mixing flannels with cottons I was miserable because of all that extra stretchiness from the flannel. Was that just my fabric or are you good at compensating for it? I suppose it didn't help that I was working on the bias a whole lot too...
Finn, what is a raised knot? Someday when I get time I will make a bow tie quilt! I read of your using flannel for backing, but this is the first time I have heard of it mixed with 'regular fabric'. Sounds like an interesting combination. Love your stories, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the bow tie instructions! You are so sweet! I will have to try it, a nice 'extra' instead of a flat quilt. If I don't get it just right, will the 'quilt police' come?
