Done is a vcry good word. Quilted, bound and now washed and dried...done!
Next I must stitch the binding down on Nathaniel's. Here is the sashing I chose for Little Sam's Stars..it looks black but is a deep midnight blue with stars and moons. Its an older Cute as a Button fabric. I like the way it looks. I thought it might be too strong a color for the blocks, but it works for me. And now this older Pilgrim-Roy fabric for the outer border. It has mulitcolored dots on it. I'll probably bind in a red.

Yes DONE is indeed a very good word! Not one I get to use around here very often but I have hopes to be able to report a Done, Done before the weekend is over.
I do like Little Sam's Stars very much and don't think your sashing is at all too dark. It looks perfect to me just like you have it laid out and a red binding will compliment it nicely. Another great Finn quilt in the making.
Nice feeling to be DONE ! Think I will have to wait a few months before I can say that on any quilting : )
Done sounds like music to my ears. The dark blue is perfect for Sam's quilt. He is going to love it. Your color choices are fantastic. Good work.
love the blue on sam's quilt, and expect the red will be a wonderful accent. Congrats on done....
The stars and moons sashing is perfect! And red binding will be a great finishing touch. What a wonderful little boy quilt!
Done IS a very good word!
A perfect quilt for a little boy - I too like the sashing and border colours - they show the blocks off beautifully.
Having a paw full of pins sounds like the story, "When Theodore Bear met Portia Porcupine" lol
The quilts look great!
Those stars in that quilt are awesome! Such a good job. And I loved the teddy bear commentary in your previous entry. LOL!
Wow, you are so productive. Sorry the rain has been putting a damper on things :(
Finn,
I love the sashing...I see it as blue with the stars/moons! Awesome choice! Glad the pinwheel quilt is done as well!
Hugs

Sam's quilt is just perfect - love the contrast between the borders and sashing - think a red binding will just make it sparkle and the fussy cut centres are great - lovely quilt for a special little boy :o)
Lucky Finn ! To think it takes me almost a year (!) to complete a quilt, but I must admit I cannot machine quilt...
Your works are wonderful, Finn. Please go on enchanting us, I visit your blog everyday for inspirations, just as I would browse through a good quilting book!
Done! - Wow that was quick.
I like the sashing and border that you chose for the stars... Red does sound like a good choice for binding...
Love the quilts. The red sashing will look great with the blue and yellow borders. Hard to beat the primary colors.
Happy Dancing for you. I love they way the look when they are washed--all crinkled and soft. I had to launder some markings out a few yesterday and I know a child is going to love to cuddle up in them.
The sashing looks great with the stars--good choice!
Love those polka dots.
I love the moon and stars fabric. I did a sampler quilt with a group which had a lot of different colors in it and used the same fabric to pull them all together. Sam's quilt is wonderful and I love the bright polka dots on the finished quilt...what fun!

looks good. Done is a very good word when quilting. your pic of the sashing does look midnight blue and is smashing!!!
Ooowwww, I like it very much. Both quilts actually! But Sam's is really great. I think the dark blue with the moons and stars kinda looks like the night sky that all those cowboys sleep under!!
Now, enlighten me about something. I have never washed one of my quilts yet. Too chicken I guess. I do pre-wash, and my neice has washed her son's quilt many times. But why do you wash right after you are done? Just to get the crinkle look? or?? what??
I love your quilts and "done" is a very satisfying word! I especially like that fun green-with-yellow-spots fabric :-)
I love those twirling pinwheel type of stars in the top picture! Those are such great quilts! I just love the warmth and feeling of your quilts!
Wonderful, wonderful boy quilt, finn! The sashing is just perfect.
And, the pinwheels with the polka dots - what a brave choice of fabrics that turned into another great finn quilt!
Cheers!
Evelyn
