It's kind of unsettling for me to admit, but most of my quilting life is like this post....ideas quickly drawn on scraps of paper. There are little scraps of paper like these everywhere. It may look like one piece, but there are 4 quilt ideas(on 4 pieces of paper) in that picture. The business card, from my shop, has a block idea sketched on the back..LOL. And it looks like I'd better recheck that block at saw at Bonnie's quiltville site, I'm not sure those triangles are in the right positions. So gals, this is the last post for today. I probably have driven those of you with bloglines crazy in the past half hour...sorry..*VBG* Blogger didn't want to play, and I'm not sure how to get more than one picture posted with Picass. AND I forgot to reverse the order of posting, so this is actually THE END, the BEGINNING is down at the bottom...LOL I think the heat's got me!!!!! Posted by Picasa

I'll pick the top one and just comment all my thoughts here!

Love the journal! Love to see all the notes and pictures and snaps torn from pages here and there. I do the same thing, as you have seen. You can't imagine all the pictures saved on cd's of quilts an dideas online! It's almost the same to me as a quilt! It will be something your kids will enjoy reading and looking at for years...as much as the quilts themselves!!

Now, I just realized how to post more than one pick when linda mentioned the holding tray. I'll send you an email and show you how!!

Hey, Finn---on Picassa, just put as many as you want in the tray and in the order you want them to go---hit the hold button with each one you add. The "blog this"

Sometimes I type the note then, other times I publish and then go edit the post once it is up in blogger.

I love the journal--mine is probably less written down but my inspiration file of pics on my hard drive is growing along with my EQ files. I have a fair amount of things printed out on EQ with cutting instructions scrawled on the margins though--some I keep, some I toss. How many strips of what size to cut the quilt and a pictorial to follow along when piecing.

Love the journal - half the fun of making quilts is planning what to make - even if we never get round to it at least a journal captures ideas and colours.

Your journal pages are wonderful. My blog has become a sort of quilting journal for me. I've started printing it out each month and saving it in a notebook. And sticking the odd sketches I have sitting around in page protectors to go in the notebook. Don't know why as I have no children to pass this on to but someone might find it interesting some time in the future.

My quilt journal is an 8 X 11 blank book that is wired bound and has tulips on the cover. I haven't included many drawings or other pictures, but I think you have inspired me to start doing that. Thanks for sharing.

Your journal is amazing Finn, I don't have a journal at all, so I don't manage to keep any ideas in my head for very long. You will be able to look through your notes and recall what you were planning and feeling at the time. It's a great thing!

I loved looking at your journal pages no matter in what order they were supposed to be in...We all have days like these sometimes. *LOL*
The heat about got the best of me today. A little tooooo much sunshine for me. I over heated a bit and had to sit down for a while and hug an ice cold glass of water.
I cannot wait until the temps go back down to a reasonable 80 degrees.
