In the shadows...

Morning sun, WIP rug, and another wallhanging to baste....
This little (19" X 23") wall hanging is already several years old...not quite double diget years, but close. I do love it and yet, never seem to get around to quilting it.
The leaves are an odd size, probably were suppose to be 4", but finish at 3.75" instead.
My creative touch will be(the next one..LOL) will be give them 1/8" satin ribbon stems. I want to come up at the V of the leaf, twist the ribbon once or twice and then anchor it by going down at the corner of the background. On the back side I will probably have to stitch that stem stub down by hand....*VBS* That should keep me busy for a few evenings. Hope you are all having sunshine on your shoulders today...*S* Posted by Picasa

I love the colors on the wall hanging. It should look even better with the ribbon and embroidery.

Oh how pretty these leaves are! The colors are wonderful against the dark background.

I have a pieced leaf top somewhere ... I'll have to look for it.

What a pretty little top! The rug is really coming along, too! Fall is arriving here, too - in the form of a flock of geese on the bay yesterday morning!

those little leaves are so cute--and look how big your crochet section is getting too. Is it heavy to hold hit already?

What fun! Your ribbon stems will be a wonderful addition. Since this piece has been around so long and you've not been anxious to get it finished, have you considered that just maybe it isn't finshed? Could there be a "niggle" somewhere in your head that thinks it could be something more than the delightful "small" piece it is? and has been for how many years?

What a pretty fall quilt. Great idea on the ribbon stems. And I love the rug you're working on -- my kind of rug -- would look great on hardwood floor, except for the slippery factor!

Perfect for the beginning of fall :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's a bit slow on getting the actual quilting done!

Ohh, what a perfect little piece to dig out and finish for fall - and I think the satin ribbon stems will be a great touch to add. Labor intensive, but worth it!
