Pages from my journal...several weeks ago, Laura shared the journals she makes...and they are beautiful. Judy at http://ragdollquilting.blogspot.con/ took that opportunity to share drawings and notes from the quilt journal she keeps. All her quilt and quilt ideas are documented. I think that is a super idea. I didn't start til quite late in the process. Oh, about 20 years or so..late. But I do keep a quilting journal now, not covering everything, but things I see along the road of life that inspire me. If I save the picture or the idea, maybe it will become a quilt, maybe not. Some have and I'm glad I saved the directions, idea or a general idea of what the block was. There is nothing new in my sewing~quilting life right now. I'm still in the process of dealing with "kids" stuff. So I'm going to share some pages from my ongoing quilt journal. I use a plain covered Daily Planner with a spiral binding. It allows me to tear out a page if I want to, without having to remove the corresponding back page as in a "stitched" journal. I'm not going to say too much more as I post there, I think the writing or printing is readable, and you could click to enlarge. My Tuesday hopes for cooler weather for all of us, across the USA, and the rest of the world. AND first day of Vicky (LA Quilter) Fabric Diet for August! I'm on board to give it a try, how about YOU???? *VBS* Posted by Picasa

Oh Finn, I love your journal!! That is exactly how I want mine to look. You post such wonderful historical family memories, you should definately keep a journal just with the postings on your blog printed out for your children!

No diet promises from me - fabric or food. Someone has to keep the shops in business. :) I have a three ring notebook with those clear folders for all the ideas I like. Plus stick-on notes, everywhere. I keep wanting to get a book put together of the quilts I have made. Another someday thing to do.

Well, Finn -- you have inspired me to start a quilt journal (and I've only been quilting for about 15 years, so not too late! vbg) I do have a quilt journal notebook I bought and never even opened last year, so I'll start there. Thanks!
