The sewing slump continues, but I'm keeping the faith. I'm sewing strips of fabric for my rug. There is no rhyme or reason to the colors or placement. I'm using left over 1.5" strips for the most part.
Yesterday I cut about 1 yard of black, and it
seemed like a lot. It didn't even make one round. The bigger rug measures 26" now..it grows slowly.
And I started a second one,
in the more pastel colors. It's the same size hook(K) but with narrower strips. These are 3/4" wide.
I'm hoping for sewing inspiration soon..or at least some get up and go to work on an existing project. Rain we have...but no inspiration anywhere near me..*VBS*

ooo Finn! I LOVE them! OK, now you have me wanting to do one. Is it just a simple single crochet your doing? I love them!
love the rugs! hoping i can start one this winter to keep me busy and out of trouble.
I too had trouble being inspired to sew this weekend. did finish my mystery quilt but ran short on the fabric for borders. DARN!
did a little hand quilting but yesterday I just couldn't seem to get myself motivated to do anything. we had rain all day too. maybe that's why.
love your rugs! will feel good under your feet this winter.
The rugs seem like a great project -- not uninspiring at all. Working in fabric, no matter how is just such a treat *s*
I think that's perfectly OK Finn - you are still doing something with your fabric. I really love the rugs! Obviously those are a great stashbuster! It's something I've wanted to do for a long time. One of these days - when I retire if not before.
Looking very good!!
Still creating, just not sewing. Love the rugs, have you got an end size in mind or will they just grow till you think it's time to stop?
Those rugs are great. I kinda wish I was working on one like that versus what I am working on. Working from the outside in is difficult, I would rather work from the inside out. "Since" you ask, the dictionary says since is pronounced with a short i, as in "sin" and sense is pronounced with a short e, as in pet. Sorry, I was feeling snarky on Friday. My bad.
hey those are looking great and you are still working with fabric! That should count in the creativity department.
I didn't get started today either though I have some thoughts of doing some embroidery--or something.
Nice rugs. We have rain here too. As long as it's gone by Friday I'll be happy.
Maybe the fall leaves will inspire you. They're on their way. I love the rug. You know, sometimes you get burned out on stuff--even fun stuff-- and need to take a break. I still love reading your posts.

Finn, those rag rugs are just wonderful and they seem like a great way to get thru the stash!
I'm sure you'll have some quilting inspiration soon, don't fret, and that inspiration will find you!
*hugs*

:-)
what gorgeous rugs those are turning into...how fun is that! sometimes we need a short break and the quilting muse finds us in due course..enjoy your break...
Do we have to quilt every day? Do we make snowmen every day? Or pick blueberries every day? There are seasons for everything... so maybe this is your season to make these fabulous rugs! My Nana and Mom used to braid rugs and I remember helping to make little round braided rugs for chair pads.
Cheers!
Evely
I love the rugs! And you aren't in a slump--you are just fondling your fabric in a different way right now. And using up lots of fabric--that's a good thing!
WTG!
How much bigger are you going to make that darker one? Perhaps a yard in diameter?
Aren't you something..making rugs now too...wow, I wish I had your get-up and go...smile. Your always inspire me!
I LOVE them so much ...
