This is the red, black and white Trip Around The World..ala Bonnie at Quiltville. I have it listed on my sidebar as an August goal. The blocks were made, just have to lay them out and sew them together. It's for a WTIL quilt, and will travel to Linda J. in Alabama once I get my part done.

I'm thinking about layouts..which do you like?? I'm off to a eye dr. appointment shortly..no time to snap a Civil War block picture, but I will later today...honest!! *G*

I really like the second one. It is very op-art and unusual for a quilt.

I love the second one!!!

Ever the oddball, I like the first one. What does WTIL mean? Maybe that would make me like the second one *s* Hope the eye appt goes well. Waiting anxiously to see the Civil War block.

I like the first one...the second one makes me dizzy.*S*

Well, I'm going to take the easy road and say that I like them both for different reasons. I love circles...and the 1st one gives me a circular feel. I love the second one two because it seems to move and flow. Some lucky child is just going to be smiling from ear to ear with their new quilt.

Hugs ((O)) to you, Finn! Praying that the visit to your doctor is full of hope.

Finn, I think that 2nd one will make ME have to head to the eye doctor!! YIKES, girl--to say nothing about your eyes jumping.

I saw a red and tan quilt similar to your first picture at farm fest a few weekends ago! I'll have to post it for you tomorrow - can't tonight, the pics are on my other pc (at work)!

And I'll be no help at all because I like them both, but for different reasons!

I like the second one, but then again the first one is nice. I will vote #2.

I like the second layout but either one is really nice. I keep seeing these 2 color quilts all over blogland and it has me itching to do one in every color.

Im hoping you had good news at the doctor!

OOOH, I think I prefer the first one (I like the big white square that forms where the block come together.) but the second one is nice too.

Trip Around the World - I like the first one, but I agree with other comments - this would make me have eye problems too!

Hope all is well with you and you get a good report from the doc. He will probably say stop already taking a Trip Around the World and stick with the more subdued Civil War Era.

I vote for the first one!

I'm on the bandwagon for the first one--the other makes me feel a little dizzy! :) But honestly either one would be nice.a little prayer for a "good news" dr. appt.

I'd be tempted to put some dark sashing between the blocks, whichever layout you use, to separate the squares of the same color that are touching each other.

Hope your eye appt. was filled with good news!
