Adoption Pending...*S* This is Ebony..also know as "ebs" and "ebby". She lives with a single, middle aged mom. Mom is moving and Ebby can't go along. She is between 6 and 7 years old, neutered, de-clawed and a gal who prefers a quiet environment without small children. She is also a 100% indoors cat..*VBS*
After spending some nursing time with youngest son last Thursday, and enjoying his roommates cat a great deal, I reach the decision that I would like a feline friend back in my life. It's been awhile since Tigger moved to the farm and a happier life that included outdoor. I told my DD that I was thinking in that direction, but hate to it s both DSIL and oldest DS are very allergic to cats. She said "Mom, they aren't there that often". Which is true, only once or twice a year. I wanted a slightly older cat, preferrably declawed and neutered. One that had lived with a woman, and had short hair.On Monday I got an email from my DD telling me that a co-worker of DD's moving, and Ebby isn't going with her. Told DD to find out if she was shorthair, and she is...so I've agreed to take her to be my companion..*S* I have paperwork to complete for our management company, and will need a letter from my Dr. which is the only way you can bring a pet into these townhouses... She's as good as mine....and just in time for Halloween! Posted by Picasa

What a cute looking Halloween cat! I'm considering cat adoption in the near future, too.

Oh Finn, I think that is one of the best things a body can do for oneself---having a furry "best friend"!!! She will let you cry on her shoulder, and you can tell her all of your secrets and she will never tell them!!! :) And she will love you unconditionally!! She is beautiful!!! So much company....I don't understand households like some of my family without one!! :) And Ebby is sooo lucky to get you for her MOM!!! :) Hugs to both of you, dear friend!!

Aw what a sweetie and good of you to take Ebony in--perfect name, by the way. It sounds like a perfect fit with your DD's blessing. Take their meds when they happen to come visit, you are the one that lives there all the time.

BTW, much the same philosophy I used about a picture that hung in our living room just because a friend of DJs gave it to us--who is here the other 360 some days of the year? The pic is in his bedroom now.

You know that they have studies that show petting a cat can lower blood pressure and raise your spirits in medically measurable ways! She looks liek a lovely girl and so petite and sweet. I know that having a companion will be great for you! Your kids can just take some anti-histimines and suck it up for a few days. DD sounds like a great daughter!

So happy to hear about Ebby! You know that the British say a black cat is good luck? I know my little gal, Penny, has brought us lots of loving and we call that good luck!!!

Congratulations!

I have been thinking along the same lines. It's been several years of no pets. I've been working on CarGuy about an animal. Congratulations on the new addition to the household. /paula

What a wonderful companion for you. I can't imagine not having a cat(or 5) in my life. :-) I suspect we'll start seeing lots of pictures of cats sprinkled in with the quilts. Heck if it's like at my house it will be the cat ON the quilts. LOL!

BTW, I had 2 kittens once. A black, A white, and a black/white. They were named Ebony (Eb), Ivory(Ivy) and Harlequin (Harley).

Wow, that's great Finn. I know you've missed having a pet. This sounds like a great opportunity for both of you. You have to have a letter from your doctor? Aiyee, sometimes these homeowners' associations are a bit much.

Ebony looks like the perfect companion. I love black cats. Don't know why, but I do like them.

Ebbie sounds like the perfect pet...already trained and out of the terrible kitten stage. All you have to do is enjoy her and I hear they lower blood pressures with their calming affects. She will make a wonderful companion and bring you lots of pleasure.

Hugs,
Sandy

Great, really great finn! I am happy for both of you! She looks like a cat we had for 18(?) years? We found her as a tiny fighting kitten in the woods and Mom said No way could we keep her, so don't even name her. So - we didn't - just called her Black Cat for I think 18 years! A perfectly wild cat who just adored my Dad and would happily sit on his lap for hours as long as he didn't pet her.

Cheers!

Evelyn
