Apple pie weather....and memories of days gone by. I'm guessing most of you know that I pretty much "sail" through life these days. Only putting into port
when I feel the need to do so. Seeking a sheltered harbor if the winds of life grow too strong, or the sea is stormy. And that works quite well for me...*S* But as any long time sailor could tell you, there are days of "dead calm"...with no breeze stirring. And on those days, a sailing vessel doesn't go anywhere. I hit one of those "dead calm" patches, a few days ago, and it seems I have nothing to say. At least for "just now". Probably one of the nicest gifts of age, is the ability to do just as you please, for the most part..*S*.
Quite a number of years back, I had read a delightful book by a gal who taught at a WI 2 year college. She had written about "ambling"...as in "bears amble". To amble is a kind of slow wandering, with no particular destination in mind. To move through time and space as you choose, observing as you amble along. I rather like that idea....ambling. Care to join me??? Posted by Picasa

Glad to hear from you -- you've been in my thoughts.

Ambling sounds good! Maybe time to read a book, or take a nap, or just sit and look out the window.

Hugs ~ Jeanne

I'd love to amble along with you. Really good word for most of my days.

Life seems to always speed by, to amble about instead might give us all moments to appreciate.

it probably would not hurt any of us to do some slowing down....maybe that is what I have been up to for a couple weeks now.

An amble seems like it would be the perfect pace. Sure, I'll come along *s*

ambling is always good, and stopping to smell the flowers or admire the interesting plants that manage to grow in the most unusual spots sometimes!
I think it's good to have a rest and not worry about having anything in particular to say.

I am sooo looking towards my ambling days...

I like to say a place/time to think your own thoughts and dream your own dreams...that is what will fill my ambling days.

oh, how I'd love to be able to amble. I find myself worrying just a bit too much to allow myself to amble. I'll amble with you in spirit. :-)

I'll amble along with you. It is definitely ambling weather. Perhaps a mug of hot chocolate at some point?

Ambling has become my middle name! Retirement tends to do that to a person. Isn't it wonderful to have some time to reflect on what we want to be when we grow up!?!

Ambling has been getting more and more appealing of late. Too much rushing and trying to stretch time like a too small suitcase.

I would very much like to do some ambling - not quite there yet though - I do love your posts - Juliann

It's the cool weather, makes you want to hibernate! I can't slow down just yet, still getting ready for my mountain climbing experience in a few days! But after that I probably won't be able to do anything but amble!

Take care, and let us know when the pie is done! mmm

I so want to amble - but right now I'm stuck on the runaway train :-)

A piece of apple pie (I was just thinking it is time to make one) and a cup of tea -- I'll amble with you, until I have to go to work. ;-)

Funny you should mention apple pie because we just had some for lunch. I made it yesterday to take to my Dad's for supper and there was some left. I am definitely into ambling. I have been run off my feet for a couple of months and things are at last slowing down to an amble. Yay!

You know, I retired once and 6 months later went out and got a part-time job. This job has slowed my pace and I love it. I have more time to pursue my own interests and still bring home a paycheck.

Ambling sounds good to me and I beleive that's what I've been doing for sometime now...But, since the days are cooling down I've been thinking of baking Banana Bread, but apple pie sounds great too.

You inspired me to make an apple pie yesterday! It sure was good last night - warm with vanilla ice cream melting on top.
