Saturday Morning...brings a partly cloudy sky. Sunshine would be nice for a change. But snow flurries are in the forecast.
This is a top I put together a few years ago. It's been laying in the UFO box because I can't decide what to do next. It's 43" X 43", which is an odd size. I don't think I have anymore of the black and white print..so I'm pretty limited to using borders. Any and all suggestions would be apprciated!!!! Now that I've photographed it, maybe something will occur to me...LOL. I am actually in the mood to sew this morning..and those broken dishes triangles are calling my name. But of course I have some weekend type errands to run before things close. Ebby wants to play, and Blogger and the web are running slow....what's a girl to do?????? *VBS*

It's a gorgeous sunny, wind gusting chilly autumn day here in Oregon Finn-you would love it-all the colors of the trees from flaming red to deep gold, to bright yellow...the leaves swirling around drifting into piles-glad I got out and walked Zoe in it this morning. So- you have black/white/red going on...you could do borders in any of those colors Finn! I would say a narrow border of red or black then on with maybe a mostly white with bits of black or red on it for the next border..in fact I probably have some perfect fabric to do this with...it is a lovely bowtie quilt so far...hate to see it continue to lanquish.
The bow ties look good. Do you have a round table? I have taken to making square quilts to put atop my round table. With a tablecloth underneath, no need to worry about whether it hangs down long enough and easy to peel back to avoid spill on your pretty quilt *s*
You could change it from square to rectangle by just adding some red/black rows to the top and bottom, and then proceed with borders.

It's a lovely weekend day here too! Sunny and warm!!
Doesn't feel much like fall, but there are leaves swirling around on a gentle breeze..
Enjoy your weekend!
SEW!!!!! Put some red, white, and black borders on the quilt and call it good. It is a very cute quilt.
Yes, I agree with the red and black borders, love the bowties. Size doesn't matter (in quilts)!
Hope you have a great weekend, keep warm.
How about first a narrow Border of Red,, then How about a wider strippy scrappy border pulling all the colors you have in that.. I saw reds, orange, and primaries in the bow ties.... Maybe use Jeanne's idea make it rectangle and do a strippy scrappy after a small red one...just one ends!! I like her Idea to make it rectangle :O)......
All advice so far is great... you don't need borders made of the same inside-of-the-quilt fabric! I bet you have something in your stash that would work. (Personally I like Libby's table cloth idea.)
You've been a busy gal Finn since my last visit.
I like the bow ties, reminds me of formal wear with a bit of flare
Hmm, if you want it to be rectangular, not square, I'd think about adding a row of dogs under and above all those bow tie bones. I've seen some scotties done in red and black that were pretty cute... but any dog would do!
My two cents worth .. is a red, and black border and say that's okay... Or maybe border of black and white tiles and red next.. So many possiblities. We will look forward to your next step.. Got sunshine and shadow finished and ready to sandwich and start quilting pictures posted tomorrow .. I promise..
I can see a scrappy black & red border - either checkerboard or piano key - maybe even 1/2 square triangles or flying geese - or a combination...
Do something with the red for a border! Love black, red and white together. How about a checkerboard border or something like that?
