Sunday Morning and a bit of sunshine peeking through the clouds. So much for a forecast of snow
flurries. I got the sewing machine to sew this morning. No amount or coaxing would make it work, so I decided to give that fly wheel a good twist!! And that did it. Now I can turn the sewn squares into these...*VBS*
The sewn blocks come out at 5 1/4th" so I'm sizing them to 5". I'll sew them together into blocks of 4. I'm gotten the 10 or 12 sets from yesterday sewn together now. And I'm planning on sending them through as leaders and enders. I'll keep cutting some of my older scraps into the 6.25" squares and double spliting them. Of course this is what I am in the mood to do....but I do have some promises to keep that are long overdue..so I'd better jump into those instead. Maybe a little play time won't hurt...*VBS*

Play we must from time to time. I am happy to hear your machine started working for you again. I still haven't taken mine in for repairs so using the old singer. Have a great day.

My old Singer operates on a wing and a prayer (not too dependable after 38 yrs!) I was never the quilter, but your beautiful work always makes me wish I had taken that up as a hobby..
Hope you have some fun for the rest of the weekend!

Ahhh, I'm so glad you got your machine to cooperate. Nothing like sitting and sewing when you are in the mood to do so.

Just do what you feel like! It's what the machine wants to sew.

I like your dribs and drabs. Sometimes I think the "play" quilting turn our my favorite quilts. Not necesarily the most beautiful. But the ones I always pull when I want a quilt to snuggle under.

I'm so glad you got your machine running! I got to thinking last night that my machine is 8 years old now and a pretty low end model at that. And I don't have a backup. Might be time to start thinking of getting myself another. Just in case!

Looking good! HOW many of those hourglass blocks do you have?

Seems like everyone's doing hourglasses today... lol

I agree with Finn... the machine is in charge. Do what it wants to sew.

glad you convinced your machine to work, sounds like a lube may be in order-glad you were able to do some quilty playing.

Glad the machine got working again, might have been a loose string or something keeping it from being able to move and your tough grab broke the hold! Don't worry too much about ebby, Pixel still hates being picked up and held after 3.5 years. He loves his lovin' but just don't pick him up!!

You know we keep food out all day so I really never thought about how much they eat. They wander over and grab a mouthful every so often. Glad she sin't giving you greif about the reduction!

A little play time is good for anyone! I know just what you mean - the exact reason I started making postage stamp blocks instead of working on the string blocks. Both playing with scraps - but one not requiring that I put one set of scraps away and get out a whole 'nother set!

So glad you got your machine working again!
