Somewhere...over the quilt frame....
that's where you'll find me today. Not as much fun as "over the rainbow", but it gets the job done.
Yesterday was spent setting my frame up in the garage so I could tie a couple of quilts.
Back when I had my quilt shop, Quilts on Main, I could set it up in the center of the shop. As long as the two long tables weren't set up there..LOL. Those days are gone now, and in my new, small town house, I mostly use the one car garage. Which means I need nice weather..*S*. We hit the mid 70's here yesterday...unbelivable for Nov. 8th.
Today they are only saying mid 50's, but good enough for me to finish the second quilt before the snow come in later tonight. Yes...snow flurries overnight after a 70's yesterday. It's Wisconsin. And in case you are wondering about the picture.....I'm the one in the red shirt..*VBG* See you all later after I finish.

I knew that was you, right away *s*
Do you stand there the whole time and tie? My back would die!! It's a good way to get the job done!! Glad you have the garage. I've heard of people basting quilt by having the frame set up against a doorway with some one on each side feeding the needle back and forth.
Have fun with the tying!!
Oh you put it up again! I remember that picture! I wish I had a better way to baste! I HATE basting anyway! YOu get so much hand work done - I'm jealous!
Bundle up!!! they are predicting snow for us too. I love your quilting frame. In today's life style, there's just not enough time for the good old fashioned 'hand tying and quilting'.
Have fun.
Oh, I knew that was you in the red shirt. LOL
Stay warm!
Cute, Finn!! I picked you out right away! LOL You ARE the one in the red shirt, right?? LOL Ooooh, you had a quilt shop????? MMMMMMM :D
Too funny Finn! There are two of you in red shirts! I know which one is really you thanks to pictures you've posted before. What a joker you are!
Looks almost exactly like the basting frame I used for years and years - works really great doesn't it. I especially loved it after I got my Quiltac gun - that made really fast work of the basting. Our little quilt group would get together and with 4-6 of us working we could baste a bunch of quilts in one afternoon.
Love your smile!
Look at you two go! I'd rather pin baste and machine quilt but I remember the tying frames too. Helping my mom tie the knots of yarn.
It got pretty warm down here today too so you must have sent it on down South as well. Gorgeous day with hardly a cloud in the sky--trees are pretty much right at their peek too. Of course, it will not last for either of us.
Nice red shirt! My grandma had a tying frame like yours. My grandpa made it for her. I don't even know if it still exists in my brother's basement.
how fun is that? Glad to hear you are finishing up some quilts-and then, it's on to the next! Glad to hear you had some sunshine on your shoulders.
I was looking for Ebby in the middle of it... holding the fabric down for you. :)
Better hurry with those quilts before the snow flies!
isn't the weather bizarre? snow after 70's - we're forecast snow here but only in Scotland thank goodness - detest the stuff myself but probably because we only ever get the wet slushy stuff that stops you getting anywhere but isn't enough to have fun with - as a nation we don't cope at all well with wintry weather as we only get it in little bundles so we don't change tyres or wrap up properly - hope you get the quilts done before your weather changes
Glad you're getting some quilts basted for the winter ahead. How nice it will be to have Ebby sitting nearby...purring away...and you stitching away!
Speaking of weather...it's is ch-ch-chilly here this morning. I don't think I'll get away with going outdoors with a heavy sweater. It's 23 degrees out!
Have a good weekend, Finn!
Finn, you have inspired me! My dear MIL has offered my her quilting frame and being an absolutely terrible hand quilter, I hesitated to accept. Now, I know that I might use it for basting or hand tying and that makes me want to take another look at it. Since my husband made it for her many years before I even thought of learning to quilt, I can't even remember what it looks like! Thanks for the idea!
I thought that was you in the red shirt Finn,,, yep I said now that has to be Finn in the red (VBG)
How fun to have owned a Quilt shop...
Well now, you look lovely in red! Have fun!
*hugs*
