Success at Last....! Here are the last of the pictures from my stash. I tried Picasa off and on all day, but no luck. Now tonight it works! Go figure....
As you can see, I sort my stash by color for the most part. On this side of the master closet shelf, more of the bigger yardages. A few tops on hangers...and part of my yellows.
Red takes up a large part of two shelves, with pink at one side. Turquoise is below on the bottom shelf along with oranges. I see some turquoise up on the top shelf as well.
I did a bit of re-organizing here, and added more yellows to that top shelf(shown above). I'm always moving things around, looking for the perfect plan...which I never seem to accomplish. So....while this isn't ALL of my fabric, it's enough to give you an idea of why I am on a no/low fiber diet for 2006. I plan to continue that diet into 2007(which is coming fast) and hope I can begin some new projects that use stash.
I was telling Angie at Threadcatcher, today, that I get NO credit for my stash being neat. It merely indicates that I haven't been PULLING anything out of there...LOL. I've worked with UFO(with yardages tucked into the bag) or worked out of my scrap bins. It's not hard to keep a stash neat if you aren't touching it..LOL
Tomorrow I'm going to show you one of my mostly UNLOVED quilts. The kind that get tucked back in the corner of the closet and conveniently forgotten about. I have no doubts that I'm not the only one who has turned out a disappointing quilt. That was "way back when", and I did what made sense to me at that time. Looking at it today, while taking pictures, I know I would do something else entirely. But done is good, and done it is!

Your stash looks great, you can see exactly what you have, so when you feel inspired, you can dig right in. Good on you for committing to a low fiber diet for a whole year. I'm inspired by you!

Looks like you are organized, right and tight. Your unloved quilt would probably be loved by someone else! Maybe those with unloved quilts should have an unloved quilt swap!
looks like you could have fewer real "scrap" quilts in your future as you work to use stash.... :-)
Stash looks great! Can't wait to see those less-loved quilts - it's all in the eye of the beholder!
I wish my stash was so well organized! It's getting there and when that day comes I'll share it.
I've had several of those less-loved quilts over the years. Funny thing is those are the one's that we've used until they were threads. LOL! I guess because they weren't dear to me I didn't mind the daily use/weekly wash knowing it would wear them out quicker. And remember there are no ugly quilts to a cat. They love them all. *VBG* So get that less-loved quilt out of the closet and make Ebby a nice comfy nest.
It's those 'less loves quilts' that end up on the fence *s* Maybe someday my stash will be neat, but probably not.
Ahhh, the "Less Loved Quilt" saga! I think Ebby has claimed that one for her own. (BTW, I think it's lovely!)
My Ugly Duckling quilt fits perfectly over Daisy's kennel. I took it off one day to wash it, and she pulled it out of the laundry pile. That's HER ugly quilt!
I get such joy out of your daily blogs, even though sometimes I don't have time to comment.

Wow- that is the best stash I have ever seen. So perfectly organised, just like going into your own little quilt shop. I wish I could get so organised! Yet again, you've inspirted me :)
That was meant to say inspired!!
Its very impressive...once I had folded little stacks and the first time I got rooting in them...they remained a tangled mess in the plastic bins. I used to machine piece and loved too. Then, after some years went by, I got a rotary cutter, which my friend insisted would make my life so much easier...and I never got the hang of all those 'strips' everwhere. I found it confusing. I guess I'm just a scissors girl after all. Wondor if I'll ever live long enough to get my interest and motiviation back. I've moved on from that to other hobbies and enjoy EVERYTHING...very much...*vbg*
