Moving right alone...

and making progress, but slowly. Why, you wonder? Because I've gotten very slow at things this past year. My lower back is still bothering, and arthritsis has begun in my shoulders. So, I move somethings, and then I rest, and then move
more, and rest, etc. It all gets done, just not very fast...LOL. I have lots of stuff piled against one long wall, waiting for a destination. And I have the 2 shelves of lights and background fabric piled on a chair, waiting for a home. It had been in a tall bookcase with 2 shelves of quilting books. But the bookcase has moved across the room to a darker corner and will now hold folded quilts, and what ever quilt books that will fit. And I have
things piled on the window sills, waiting to see where they will be going. Scorch, my favorite dragon guards his corner again stray animals. And then there are
the two shelves of books that got displaced.
Those are still piled on the floor under the window. There are two more bookcases out in the living room, also filled with quilt books, and a few old favorite books by my favorite authors. I got rid of most of my vast collect of books when I sold the house. Just too much. Too much weight, too much space. And I no longer have the ability to read many of them due to the very small print. And so, onward I go...slowly, but making progress. I'd love to have the room together(at least sort of) by the weekend. Some of my kids will be coming for Mother's Day.

Sounds like a massive project -- I'd be taking rest breaks as well and have no excuse other than laziness! Keep up the good work!

Hard work, but it will be worth it.
Ut is good to take breaks so we can keep going.

I have that same American Patchwork Quilting book that is laying under your window, Finn! Your room looks like it's coming together.

For me - it always looks worse before it looks better - at least in organizing! At least you have your piles sorted - so that is progress!

Cheers!

I have that book.....I have that fabric....I have those same kinds of piles when I clean.....Hey! we all feel right at home! You know, Finn, it does our hearts good to know that we all go through the same things. And I love it when people share their photos of how things really are. You've been under the weather, so rest is good. But I bet it's kind of fun to get going on this, too! It'll be great to have more space to sew. And Miss Ebby will have a whole new world to explore!

A new sewing space always makes "things all better". Just move when you feel like it, at my age I know it will be there whenever I get around to it, whatever "it" is!!!!LOL
I, too have that quilt book, have enjoyed looking at it many times, now when I look at it I will always think of you. Take care of yourself, everything will get done soon!!!!

You don't have to do it all in one day, by any means! Especially when the body parts start protesting. Ebby getting more used to the switch or just wondering what all that stuff is doing there?

A littel bit each day and it will soon be done and Ebby will have some more exploring to do. Don't push yourself. None of us are getting any younger LOL.

Having just done a total re-do I know what you are going through. Take your time and find a good place for each item! It will look great when you are done.

Hi Finn, Sorry about the arthritis. Have you ever tried that glucosmine/chondroiton stff? It is a supplement in the vitamin section at the store. I swear by it! It might be worth looking into. Good luck with all your organizing!

It always seems to take forever, doesn't it? Maybe the kids will help you out some more this weekend!

Happy Mother's Day btw :- )

My sewing room re-organization is moving slowly too. At least it's where I can find everything even if I have to dig a bit for what i need. MUCH better than the huge mess it was! Yours will get there just take it easy on yourself and work in small amounts of time so you don't injure yourself.
