It's the 'long' groom day for Ebby. Once a week I try to give her a really thorough brushing, a long, long brushing til she's ready for me to stop. Then I pick her up, set her on my lap, and we have a 'wipe-down' with a perfume free cleansing sheet. It gets the last of the static-cling fur off
her, and seems to really refresh her. She especially likes her face washed, a quick once over ending with the part that goes over the fence last. When she gets down you'd think she had a massage...LOL. She wanders out to the living room, collapses, and sleeps. She had been on her back with paws in the air, sound asleep til I opened the camera. She flipped back onto her side and promply went to sleep again...*S* I don't have my Gee's Bend project finished, that darn binding is slow going with my vision. So
today I will just show you the back, and hope to finish the last 2 sides today. The doll quilt still is lacking borders, and I haven't pressed the Depression blocks as yet...sorry.
I did manage to get the last of the binding done on this drag-a-round for Zander tho. Now that can go out in the mail. It's not a big deal, just a cheater panel, but it's bright and happy, and I machine quilted it! I'm practicing..*VBS*
We are suppose to be heading into the 90's today, with high humidity, so I will be laying low. Very hard to breathe in warm damp air. A good day to stay inside and sew.

Love the drag along -- always good kinds of blankies to have around. Can't wait to see the Gee's bend and the doll quilt.
Enjoy the cool of the indoors -- we're heading for the same weather for the next couple of days. I'm thinking library, pool, and inside quilting!
What a precious post about Ebby's weekly 'bathe'. :D The bond between the two you just puts a smile on my face and in my heart. She's just a darling. I wonder if Homer Kitty would like a wipe-down with the wipes. He loves to be brushed. May have to try the cleaning clothes one of these days. :) Thanks for sharing this bit of your and Mz. Ebby's weekly life.
The Ebby wash made me smile.
ove that bright 'drag around'. New term to me, but I guess that is what the one I made for my grandson was/is. It has bright dinosaurs, & was for his cot, but he still loves it dearly, & he is almost 5.
Gosh I just love that cat-you've given her such personality through your writing-fun stuff
We're going to 90 as well so I'm with you-indoors and sewing. Maybe I can actually post something quilt related(wonder of wonders)soon. Stay cool
Every moring after I finish my breakfast, Kipper is right there for his daily feel/rub down. I touch him all over and he loves it. It's a good way to check for any problems as I look in his ears, feet and everywhere. I've always done this and I think that is why he loves to go to his vet. Well, that and because his vet lets Kipper give him kisses. After the rub down, I wash Kipper's face with a wet paper towel. He really loves it. His big tongue takes care of most of his body but getting his face washed is sooo nice. He would love to get his teeth brushed every day too but that only happens once a week. It is such a pleasure to be able to care for our good companions. They ask so little and give so much.
It must be heaven to be cat in your house Finn :-)
