Ripley's Believe It or Not Dept. News.....

I think most of us have received some pretty unusual birthday gifts at times...right? Well, yesterday was a day I'm going to mark on the calendar as the 'most' unusual, regarding birthday presents! And as life would have it, both of these arrived just moments apart!!
This little 'treasure' is what my friend Jean felt I needed as I begin this 68th year...*S* When she bought it, her brother thought it was a joke, but it's the real deal. Check out the size, compared to my 'normal' remote, laying on the surface of the new one. Guess there isn't much chance I'll lose it, right???
And then there is a most unusual present from DS#1. I have never had a tree in the house to care for...*S*...should be interesting..*VBS* I have a tree...a bonsai tree..please don't tell the Japanese gardeners I have it. P)And last but not least, what I've been puttering with this week. NOT what I'm suppose to be doing(this is my version of whistling in the dark to keep the elephants away...which DOESN'T work,by the way). It's at the 40" X 60" point, so I will add some borders and call it good. Probably will head down to the new little granddaughter by relationship(age 2). She just got promoted to a youth bed, since baby brother needed her crib, I made it that size with her in mind. She got a pink and white quilt from me when she joined the family back in January of '05. It's kind of fun to sew pink after all the boy quilts I've made *VBS*

Have you seen the calculators that are the size of a 8.5 x 11" piece of paper? I thought it was fake, but it really does work!

Hey, I like the jumbo remote. Easy to find and easy to see. I'm not into indoor plants either. Doesn't work for snow birds. The pint string quilt is very pretty and I' sure she will love it.

Jean: She thinks BIG, doesn't she? Whoa, that is really a conversation piece in any living room, I must say;) And the bonsai, well, it's probably more work than most houseplants, but I bet Ebbie is just going to love it. Take me a photo the first time she tries to climb in there..ha ha. Or is the plant too prickly? If that's the case, place it where you don't want Ebby to go! Hope you're having fun in the garage with your quilting....hugs!

Sometimes I think I could use a remote like that . . . then I wouldn't have to fumble so to find my reading glasses *s*

Hi, Finn. The Jumbo remote is funny. I should have had something huge like that attached to my regular minivan key. I lost it between the car and the front door and can't find it ANYWHERE. If only I could make it beep lol. Good luck with the indoor plant, I don't have any 'cause they don't make it in my household.

Happy Birthday Finn! And, if whistling in the dark to keep away elephants produces such lovely quilts... keep whistling!!! It is beautiful. Seriously though - I hope all is well with you.

Cheers!
