Doesn't it just figure.....

that after months and months(earlier this year)of "missing mojo", once I'd found the passion again, I'd be tooooo busy to use it???? Yup...one more busy day and then I hope I can 'hit' the sewing machine with a vengence!!In the meantime, here is the 'stash enhancement' I did at the Hudson Quilt show a couple of weekends ago.All 6 are FQ's..and my first charm pak.
I'm not known for having batiks in my stash. I'm not really attracted to them in terms of piecing. I suppose I'd describe my stash as 'potluck' or a happy accidental 'happening'. I have more brights than blenders. Probably an equal amount of lights and darks, and a ton of novelty fabric(many are kids prints). But, as I said, this November has brought changes in me. Along with how I view the world, it's affecting how I see fabric *VBS*. Thus...the additional of batiks to the stash.
My sewing machine has stood quiet this week except for putting a binding on the small maple leaves quilt, so....here's another quilt from the Hudson Quilt Show. I remember that this one was made by Kathy Miller of Hudson, WI. She's also a member of the Stashbusters group at Yahoo. Loved your quilts Kathy!! I think I saw 3 that were yours.
And despite the lack of sewing.....this little quilt says it all!!! I'm HAPPY!

Funny how "the universe" has a way of re-inventing us every so often, isn't it? Especially nice when we can embrace those changes like you are, and run with it. Enjoy!! I can't wait to see what your new mojo turns out!

Knowing that you're happy makes me happy ! VBS
I can't wait seeing what you're going to do with these beautiful Batiks. Actually, I can't resist them when I see these in my quilt shop... but they keep sleeping in my stash. I have a feeling they can't be mixed with other fabrics, though I'd love to, but how ???

I love blenders and batiks. They work the best in my designs. BUT they also play well with other fabric. I just used a polka-dotted moda fabric with all batiks. It worked.

Your stash sounds like mine! I have a little of everything- except batiks- and a lot of kid's novelty prints. I am sure my November will come and I will start adding them too! I love the colors in these, perfect for fall.

You never know what will all go together from a stash . . . but usually if you are drawn to it - it will work. That's my theory and I'm stickin' to it *s*

ya, those batiks are so neat to look at but never sure what to do with them. Maybe we should all get them out of our stashes and see what we do. Would be fun. That quilt of Kathy Miller is just my style. So very inspirational. BE HAPPY!

Oh my - I think this is the first time I've ever seen a picture of batiks on your blog! You must have really undergone a transformation. Can't wait to see what you do with them.

Love those batiks -- but then again, I love allmost all batiks. They are fun to play wiht:0). I've really been enjoying your quilts -- the one for DD#1s friend is fantastic and the fact that she loved it so much is perfect! And the two that went off to your grandsons? perfect! Thanks for sharing all of your photos from the quilt show (phew -- have I caught up?).

I know how you feel about the batiks. Most of my stash now is repro fabrics & Japanese with some brights. Occasionally I see some batiks that I like, but they are usually fairly distinct patterns more like genuine batik. I also like some of the indigo ones, but then that is probably because they look Japanese! Glad you've got your mojo back - mine is creeping back in.

"Happy" is a perfect little quilt to make! I may steal your idea and make it up in a variety of holiday/seasonal prints so it could hang all year 'round!!

You picked up some beautiful batiks to start with. Someday you'll have fun with them :- )
