Do you like a mystery?

A puzzle? I do! *VBS* If you were making a quilt, similar to one you had seen, but not the same, I'd be curious. I'd want to figure out what you were doing differently, to make it your "own". Maybe I'm the only one who does that....? We'll see *VBS* Here's the quilt in progress that I'm sewing together right now. I've told you several times it is a "variation" on Gypsy Quilter's quilt that she calls "Kitchen Sink". I think her idea rocks!! But....I like doing my own thing *VBS* And I have and I'm very satified that I've captured her idea, but done it my way.
I've made progress since yesterday. I thought I'b be further along than this, but hey...I'm making progress. I do confess to needing a fresh popcorn break in the afternoon *S* Soooo, look real close....have you figured out how my version is different from the 3(or more)"Kitchen Sink" quilts that Gypsy Quilter has listed on her sidebar?????

I haven't a clue why it's different, but I really, really like this quilt the way it's coming along. It looks like it would be quick too.

I think you changed the orientation on the four-patches. On your quilt you have the light patches creating a diagonal line. On Gypsy Quilter's the dark patches of the four-patches are on a diagonal line.

Either way I like your quilt.

Not a clue but you know how I feel abut doing things my own way!! Wonder if it has gotten you in as much mischief over the years as it has me?

Whatever the pattern, I love the scrappy sort of following a pattern idea! Great work, dear Finn!

looks great Finn- it is such a subtle difference it seems to fit right in with the idea /series. although the lights going diagonal do give it a certain structure I did not notice in any of Gypsy's. glad to see you playing with your scraps..!

I think your lights are marching across your quilt in a different direction than Gypsy's...is that correct? always fun to 'see' what you are makin' Finn!

I just wanted to let you know that I just love your quilt!

Your little four patches seem to be more clearly defined as light and dark values. Well they do to me.

I do believe you left out the light row of large patches and it looks wonderful. But you know, I think each time I do a KS, it comes out a little different. And hey, that's what it's all about, using up, making do, and having fun! Keep up the good work.

That quilt is gorgeous! I love the pattern to it. And I have to say I love the finding Nemo fabric I spied in there.

Okay - here's what I think . . .but my brain is starting to hurt, so I'm not going to think about it too much more *s* - Your 'not 4 patches' are all one piece of fabric where the other quilts have some pieced blocks, hst's, etc. Looks good in all versions
