One fine day....

leads to another, or so it seems this time of year. Our cool spell continues, and more often than not, the wind is from the north. This morning I had the bedroom window wide open as I made the bed, and off in the distance I heard the call of Canadian geese....wow! I don't think they were mirgrating, but are a local flock that fly in circles but spend their nights in our mill pond.
I had gotten a really nice note from Lilly, of Lilly's Stuff saying she was a bit worried as I hadn't been posting as much lately. I decided I probably should explain my absence, as I know many of you worry about me. I am doing well, my vision is still challenging, but I'm feeling quite good and at peace in my valley.
What has been happening is that my dear friend Jean had bone graft surgery recently. They took a piece of her hip bone and rebuilt her jaws. It was a very long surgery, 5.5 hours, and she had it done at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. The hopital stay was only a few days and then she was back at home up here in WI. The jaws are doing well, but the hip bone incision continues to be a problem. Her walk is quite unsteady, and she's not suppose to lift ANYTHING for this first month. Fluid had puddled behind the incision, and a second small surgery was done to drain that and put in a drain tube. So I've been helping as much as I can with laundry, food prep etc. And trying to keep her morale up, as she will be off work the whole month of August. Luckily she has that much sick time accumulated and isn't out any pay.
The time for my mo-jo to return wasn't the best, LOL, but I make a few blocks before I go in the morning, or in the evening when I'm back home. She's getting around better now, but still not back to herself conpletely. I'll be back in full force once I can take a deep breath and relax again. I'm as bad as a wet hen when someone I care about is hurting...I fuss alot *VBS*

Good to see a post, I was wondering what was up. Sounds like you have been very very busy. Take care, winter is coming along with lots of time for sewing.

A lot of us can relate to that kind of busy, dear Finn. It never fails for me, either. When I really WANT to sew, something always comes up. Today, 'corpse pose' with Yoga Mistress Ebony sounds really good. I just may put my paws up in the air, let my wrists and sit-down-upon rest from too much sewing and computing and ...ooooohhhhhmmmmmmm. That's just me purring ;)
