Friday at Finn's....

and a sunshiney one it is *VBS* Showers in the forecast, but for later in the day. On the hillsides all around me,the leaves are beginning their transformation. It reminds me that snowflakes will follow, but that I should enjoy the dance that accompanies autumn in WI. The Thimbleberries Logs are finished. I put the last stitches in the binding yesterday while watching re-runs of Project Runway. I'm very happy to be finished with this one. Its been a hanger way too long.
It has a cozy flannel backing and is machine quilted in the ditch between the 10" blocks. When I finished, it didn't seem to be enough quilting, so I tossed it in the hoop and used cranberry perle cotton and stitched in the ditch around the first row of logs. Really make the definition much better. As usual, I've changed my mind again about what comes next....LOL
And it's this one this time. The butterfly background is from a challenge that Cher, Marathon Quilter, helped with. She sent me a half yard so I could play along. The quilt is way past overdue, but it will get finished and donated. *VBS*
Along with Friday sunshine, my youngest grandson(DGS #10) with a big smile for Granny Finn. They are coming to see me on the 4th of October. Can't wait to get my hands on him again *VBS* Happy stitching everyone!

Oh my! Look at the big smile from your DGS,such a cutie, he's gonna break a lot of hearts when he's a grown-up! I had to laugh because I still have some of the Thimbleberries fabric in my stash that you've used in your quilt as well as the butterfly fabric(background fabric)in your Bowtie quilt. I wonder who else has these fabrcs still in their stash and is willing to admit it? LOL

Finn,

I have just discovered your blog, and it is so warm, inviting, and cozy. You are a prolific quilter, and your work is inspiring. I plan to visit frequently now that I have found you! I feel as though I'm chatting over a cup of tea and a warm slice of apple pie; thank you! Jen

I can just imagine snuggling his neck and blowing a raspberry. I can still hear Dear Son cackle when we did that.

Give him a hug from me.

And your quilts, as always, are incredibly beautiful.

Sipping green tea and thinking of you.
