Leftovers.....

Sometime I think IF I were going to write a book, either about quilting or my life(and they are pretty closely connected)I would have to title it "Leftovers". There doesn't seem to ever be a time when there isn't "leftovers" in some area of my life. And maybe that's how it's suppose to be until our final resting come to us. Maybe there is always "unfinished business" of one sort or another. The trip to the specialist/eye surgeon went well. He found my good eye(?) healthy enough for surgery. That's HUGE! Deciding to have the surgery is another story. I don't really want to get into it very much today, but I will say it's going to have to be a very serious decision as it's the last thing they can attempt to give me more vision in that eye. And it comes with some unchangeable risks. Every thing has its risks, but this one is like stepping off a cliff. I can land safely,no worse for the wear, or I could lose what little sight I have and be very limited in what I could see to do. I could still live independently, but with no ability to drive or read any printing smaller than the big E. BUT.....the trip was lovely. Betsy and I hit the Mill Ends store for the last day of their big Columbus Day sale(60 % off one fabric item, and 1/3 off all other fabrics!) We had Chinese for lunch and had a nice time together. I didn't buy much fabric, just a couple of special pieces for Christmas projects. I'll show you those tomorrow *VBS* As I said yesterday, the Double 4 patch I'm tying is UFO#5 for me, but have NO fear...I have more to consider! Like this one...the table runner from my tutorial...LOL. Easy Peasy if I get busy!
And this one...a real favorite of mine...A Mile a Minute effort with my scraps. It needs more blocks added. I think Betsy and I will try for a MAM Marathon during the next few weeks. Rainy days work well for us *VBS*
Oooops, how'd you get in here buddy? You're sure NOT a leftover!! He seems to be saying "what YOU lookin' at?" gosh he's adorable!!
And yes, the lime green with bows is still with me...LOL. I got a backing made over the weekend, and hope to be tying this one next. These are UFO#6,#7,and #8! Lucky me!!

You are always so astute observing life in general. All our days are unfinished business, is it not? Your darling grands are a joy to see. And also your wonderful creations. I have finished another of my UFOs and am working away on #5 & #6. I need to up my goal to 8.

My thoughts are with you as you mull over what to do about your eyes. Decent vision is such a precious thing.

Praying for you. My sister had some tricky eye surgery a couple of years ago and it went very well. She was lucky. Love the baby, and the quilts.

Hello Finn! and happy belated birthday to you!

I see you are as busy as a bee.
I am working diligently on one of my Finntastic Finnishes and hope to have it done just after Thanksgiving. Life is pretty hectic right now and leaves little time for quilting. I have been doing some knitting while I watch my Red Sox try to get into another World Series.

You are in my thoughts as you make the big decision about your eye.

I ABSOLUTELY love the little guy at the piano! What a cutie!!
