An alert.....

I received this a few minutes ago from my DD#1 who works within the Washington Co, MN system. I know it's valid because it's her work email, which she rarely uses when emailing me. I'm going to post the content here as a "heads up..be watchful" alert. So whatever you feel is best for you. With Thanksgiving just days away, I can see how this one might get through our defenses.

HUGE VIRUS COMING!!! PLEASE READ & FORWARD!!!

I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for
this virus!
I checked Snopes and it is for real!! Get this E-mail message
sent around to your contacts ASAP. ** This first part(above) is her letting me know she checked the validity before sending it on to me. Hugs, Finn

PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!
You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message
with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK,' regardless of who
sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which
'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be
received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact
list. This is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your
contacts It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive
the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even though sent to you
by a friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately. This
is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by Microsoft
as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee
yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus
simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital
information is kept.
COPY THIS E-MAIL, AND SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS. REMEMBER: IF YOU
SEND IT TO THEM, YOU WILL BENEFIT ALL OF US

This virus went around in early October also. Is it new or the same?

Yep, I received the same one and checked it out on Snopes.com.... It's true! Besides that, my #2 daughter said that they got it at the bank they work at that same morning!... Be careful everyone!

Thanks for the heads up on this Finn!!! We are our brother's keepers aren't we all... 8-)
I haven't checked in for a while... Been out on my end. You've been one busy lady haven't you?! Ten UFOs done, and it seems you keep finding more!!! Wow!
The boarders on your Pinwheel/Aurora top finish it off quite nicely!!! Love your orphans in your Nov 22 post! 8-)
Just about ready to report my 5th challenge project done...just have some gathering stitches and wayward threads to remove, wash and dry, and get it in place for a good photo, and I'll be done! 8-)
Happy stitchings!

This seems to be a hoax according to urbanlengends, but I did receive an email about a card "from a friend" from Hallmark recently whose link looked like it would take me to a site that was not Hallmark. I would like to think I would have checked anyway, but a reminder from another blogger made me more diligent, so I think it is worth the reminder.
