Another Snowy Sunday...

My goodness, I've been missing for a whole week!! I do tend to lose track of time, sorry about that *VBS* It's quite amazing how rapidly the days and weeks zip by. I need to be thinking about Christmas...and soon! The view out my window was quite spectacular at 7 this morning. I can't resist opening the door and capturing it,digitally. This is looking south east.
And here is the view if I turn towards the north east. I think I have snapped these two views in almost every season *VBS*
Last weekend saw the finish of another UFO project. This one combines things from 3 UFO's. Two of the bags are completely emptied, but there are more of those black/white squares units. I pieced a backing and a batting and machine quilted it in the ditch.
This is the backing I put together for this orphan/UFO block quilt. I have a bag of assorted pieces of backing flannel, too small to be a whole backing. These pieces worked perfectly and made that bag emptier. AND....I have "offically" used up ALL the 1.5" strips from my bin, as varigated binding. I've lost track of how many, but in the neighborhood of 7 quilts bound with it. I'll have to go back and count!! This is "finish #11", I spent the week, at the dining room table, cutting up more scraps! It's so rewarding to see those assorted baskets and bags "go empty"! And of course, I had to start a new project from some of those cut up scraps. I'll share that tomorrow...promise!

How beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing. Sure wish we could see a bit of that white stuff around here. We've had a bunch of beautiful days but so unseasonably warm - as high as 50! - that many trees still haven't lost all their leaves. It looks more like fall than December!

I've thought of you often the last couple days now that I'm back to working with scraps and creating as I go. So much fun for a change! And so amazing how many blocks I've created with the leader-enders. Turns out I have enough for two charity quilts instead of just one!

What a wonderful time of the year to create treasures out of the scraps that others would have tossed out at the end of a project. All of the empty bins and boxes always leave me feeling at least as satisfied as the last stitch on the binding of a finished quilt. Thanks for the lovely photos.

That quilt has "happy" running out of all four corners!!

Pretty sunrise. I thought it would be too cold to snow last night, but no such luck :o)

I just had a lightbulb moment about those scrappy bindings of yours. I've been putting my leftover bits of binding back into the scrapbags when I could be sewing them together to make a multi-color binding! Duh! Oh well; better late than never ;- )

Yes, spectacular view outside your house indeed, almost as good as the view you usually show us of what is inside, all those lovely quilts. Hope you stay warm and are enjoying a wonderful holiday season.

How beautiful are your photos, but very chilly! It's still raining here and not cold enough for snow. I love your finished UFO, looks very cute. I really like that you were able to pull things from 3 other UFOs to put this one together. I LOVE when those 'storage bags and baskets' go empty. Sadly it doesn't happen for me often enough!

PS - Please (finally) mark me down as 1 finished project. I've three more that are almost there so you'll be hearing from me soon!
Cheers,
Dionne

That sky is gorgeous in the picture, I'll bet it was spectacular in person!!

I love that little quilt, it looks like it took weeks of planning to put it all into a pattern, but you have the ability to throw scraps into a pan, stir it up a little and out comes art.

envy, there's a word,,,tee hee

Such beautiful scenery! It would be interesting to compare the photos from year to year to see the subtle changes in the neighborhood. The quilt looks wonderful.
