This and that on a snowy Tuesday...

It seems like we are getting a snow storm from the west or south nearly every day now. WI spent the weekend in sub-zero temps, but at least we had power! I feel so bad for the folks out east, some of whom have been 11 days without power. Ice isn't nice!! I hope they will soon be warm again, especially with Christmas just a few days away. I managed to finish the binding on this Black and White Polka Dots quilt over the weekend. The piece of stash I found for binding is absolutely perfect!! If you click to enlarge, and pins, don't worry. I'm planning on doing a bit of utility quilting in the polka dotted areas. Basically it's a tied quilt, and will be given away, but I think it needs a bit more, and I love to quilt.
These are the fabrics that followed me home back in mid-November. I was in Menomonie for the optho dr. Before my appointment, Betsy took me to a new quilt shop. It was doing 25% off everything in the store as a opening promotion. The red and batik on on the right are half yard pieces, and the green and cream are quarter yards for my Civil War quilt. It's not that I really needed more new fabric, but these 4 pieces and a package of powdered chalk were all I bought...moderation, right?? *VBS*
In the Holly Jolly Dept. we have pictures of Baby L at 9 months. I must say that DD#2 has been wonderful about sending pictures of him each month. I haven't see him since my birthday in Oct. but he will be coming for Christmas Day.
He is definitely turning into a little boy and leaving the baby looks behind. He's walking a few steps now, but can crawl like greased lightening!! After a few faltering steps, he just drops to the floor and crawls...LOL I'm so very anxious to see him again. He's such a happy, smiley baby.

I just love the look that the B&W polka dots give. I had a bit of that binding fabric and used it in Savannah. I don't know if it shows up in my photo or not. Since I am south west of you, I guess I've been sending all our weather your way. Sorry. Merry Christmas, Finn!

Is this the same quilt you did a few months ago or a new one with the same design? The one you did a few months ago is what attracted me to your blog. I love it. Precious grandson!

Well done with that binding find! And how wonderful to have that adorable baby boy coming over for Christmas. I hope the weather will allow it. I may not get to see my grandbabies this Christmas because of the weather :-( It just won't be the same without them!

Your quilt is very cheery. It will bring smiles to someone.

The young man is handsome. I bet you will have fun with him on Christmas.

I've lost track of how many projects I've finished and told you about. My most recent finish was a jumper for my DIL. I hope to finish 10 napkins and 10 placemats for nieces and nephews before Thursday. I hope I can get them done.

Happy Holidays! And you can stop sending the snow storms for a few days, OK?

GS 9 is soooo cute. Reminds me so much of my 19 year old boy at that age. Have fun with him! Merry Christmas Finn

Hi Finn, late Happy Christmas from me! Love the pictures of your Grandies!
It is quite warm here so the idea of days snowed in without power seems a long way from reality. Perfect quilting weather...but they'd need a treadle for piecing! Tracey
