Well, yes. I think so *VBS* My DD#1, the family photographer recorded these for the family archives. We have family albums at Shutterfly, and I just got these. I know you've seen one or two that I took, but these 4 tell almost the whole story...LOL When you've just turned one, nothing like chocolate cake to celebrate.
I was so proud of DD#2, she just "let him" have at it and didn't fuss. Actually we were all too busy watching what he'd do and laughing!
Cousins can be soooo helpful. I'm surprised the big guy didn't get a face full of cake!
The look on his face seems to say "I ate the WHOLE thing", doesn' it? He also managed a couple of small scoops of ice cream.
And the rest of the story, as Paul Douglas would say...is that it took 4 adults to clean him and the chair up again. One stood by with wet washcloth, one removed the highchair tray, one brave Daddy lifted him out and whisked him away to the bath tub. The fourth adult was posted on bathroom door and pull back the shower curtain duty. This old Granny just headed for the rocking chair and cleaner grandchildren...LOL
The little guy emerged none the worse for the cleanup and promply began chasing balloons! It was a great first birthday.

Just pricesless!! He is such a cute little guy and oh so proud of himself. Nothing quite like chocolate cake.
These are the images that you get to laugh over now and then again and again, especially when he gets older and you can laugh at/with him, too.
Mmmm! Bet that was good! You know birthday cake just tastes better when its all over you :)
Kodak moments for sure!
Don't you just love it though.
Reminds me of our dear son and his first spaghetti dinner. Or should I say his first spaghetti kitchen decorating session. I can still remember that we laughed until we cried.
Thanks for sharing the great pictures.

I have pictures like this of both of my children's first birthdays. It took DD a while to get into it because as my MIL always said she's dainty. DS, however, looked like that after every meal. We always said we should have named him Marvin because he was always called either Starvin' Marvin or Messy Marvin. Always hungry and always a mess.
So so cute! Grandchildren are such a wonderful thing.
A picture is worth a 1,000 words. That was wonderful. What great memories.
Too cute! To be that young and carefree! What a great set of pictures! Thank you for sharing them with us!
those are the best times! Reminds me of when DD was little and my sister had her. She *thought* she had her cleaned up but she had spaghetti in her armpits yet!
Lovely pics, He is definitely a cutie pie. I love children and birthday cakes. He sure seems to be enjoying himself, as he should be.
Great pictures Finn! He is a darling boy!
Hahahaha... great photos Finn, and Grandma tells the story wonderfully! 8-)
Wonderful pics! Children have so much fun when adults remain relaxed about them. Easily washed up, but priceless to see.
So sweet, brought a smile to my dial.
Historic moments...hyterical moments? They are so very cute! And so funny covered with yummy stuff. Darling, and I am glad you got to enjoy a visit.
What a face. He needs a good cleaning and a lot of smoochies!
I love first birthday parties. Nothing like a little chocolate cake to liven up a party. He looks proud of his work.
