What's on my mind today....

and taking a minute or two to thinking about it. This lovely panel and fabrics are from about a year ago. I've mulled them over and over and finally I'm ready to slice and dice(I think!).
Belated birthday wishes to my beautiful younger sister who hit the magic(?) 62 on April 6th. A picture from 60 years ago, The Pony-Girl with our Mom *VBS* Happy Birthday K !
And my ongoing decision making dilemna....those DARN UFOs. I've pulled 9 into a collage. Some of these are on hangers, the log cabin and the bow tie still need blocks added. Six months now and I haven't touched that logcabin...bad Finn. The strippy ones are new, two of four strippys waiting for quilting. And I've spent serious time making a detailed list of my "Beguns"...kind of like the a Honey-Do list, but friendier. The trouble is....the list numbers are up to 64, and that doesn't include finished tops. It's not that I really NEED 60+ more quilts in my life, but I have this disease....LOL, maybe you've heard of it????

OMG! I thought I had a lot of ufo's, but I surely take a back seat to you. The log cabin quilt is so nice. It deserves to be finished! Send happy birthday wishes to K for me.........

I think LindaMay is right....feeding the stash makes the disease a whole lot more fun. Great quilts friend.

"Lucky" me, I've only bin quilting for about ten years, and since I began reading your blog I've bin more concious about my UFO's and orphans and I have a plan. Lol. I'm hoping I've only got a light dose of this disease.

You must have been quilting for some time to have 64 "Beguns." I can't imagine it but I am working on it. I do tend to finish tops, just because it is my nature to like the sense of accomplishment. Then, after some fermentation time, the tops start to call out to get quilted. But I do have 3-4 projects going at the same time: I like variety in my days.

Don't beat yourself up, Finn! You're creating art, not manufacturing a product. Does a painter ask if he/she really needs another painting? Sometimes we lose interest in a project; sometimes after a while we get interested in it again (or not).

As I say to my husband when he asks what I'm going to do with a quilt when it's done, "What do you do with a round of golf when you're done?"

Now Finn, if that log cabin is taking up too much room, you can just send it on over to me. I'll put it with my 3,752 tops and it will just blend right in. LOL!

What beautiful "beguns" you have, my dear!

As long as they all give you pleasure, who cares how many "beguns" you have! Enjoy all of them! :o)

I'm right there with you on the 'beguns' - I can't seem to get anything finished up lately . . . . but that doesn't stop me from starting something new *s*

I feel better about my UFO's now. :) I got some new (old) quilt magazines on Friday, looked thru them and found 12 new projects. not that I need 12 (or 1) new project. So my deal is 1 UFO for 1 new project. I will see if it works. :) P.S. I think I have done this before and that is how I get more UFO's. LOL.

Love the teacup fabric Finn! 8-)

Happy birthday to your sis K!

My, my Finn, you do have major studying to do with your PhDs (projects half done)... beautiful studies though! 8-)

Not to fear Finn, there are thousands of us sharing this disease with you... there is no cure... 8-)

Happy stitchings!

I love your new fabrics, they are so bright and cheerful. Can't wait to see what you do with them.

As to the UFO's, I can totally identify. Unfortunately. The good thing is, eventually I do get (most of) them done. :)

I like that phrase, the beguns...good for you to take a tally and now you can work on whatever strikes your fancy-these are all wonderful choices to play with.
