I'd love to see a wonderful showcase of quilts and quilting across America showing our scrappy nature and ability to combine unusual fabrics to encourage fun and frugal creativity.
Link to the theme above from my own blog post and show me your fun and scrappy quilts...whether it is an ancient scrap quilt, your typical scrappy favorite of all time, a hodge podge assortment of I Spy fussies, or Everything But the Kitchen Sink !
Please contribute this weekend through Monday in honor of my 'Memories' theme (Monday is Memorial Day (observed in the US).
.............................or do so on any and all Frugal Friday posts! along with Finn and so many others!"
So I'm going to do that Michele *VBS* I'm gathered 24 of my Everything but the Kitchen Sink, I spy, and Mile A Minute type scrappy quilts. I've condensed them into 4 collages of 6 each. It's barely the tip of the iceberg...LOL
What I realized as I thought about Michele's challenge is that basically she's talking about ALL my quilts! I've had business type errands today, needing the bank, post office and drugstore. And while working on that stuff, I thought about Michele's challenge. What I realized is that I'm quite sure I only have ONE quilt that isn't my "usual" scrappy style. I purchased 3 fabric in Longmont, CO years ago, to make a particular star quilt I loved. It took me forever to get it finished, and it's a smallish quilt! Lesson learned...don't like to work with pre-decided fabrics, and only a few.
I can actually say, and probably have, that I prefer scraps to stash. Of course one has to use stash, and that gradually adds to the scrap collection...thank goodness!****Post A Note: I see blogger cheated me out of one collage picture...so, I'll be back tomorrow with that one and MORE!! Do your scrappy best to join us *VBS*

I so enjoyed Michelle's post on her blog today.. So much for quilters to ponder over. As you know I'm a scrappy quilter..I have to be because we live on a fixed income. Even before we did though I was still a scrappy quilter. As I said on Michelle's blog, I love color and doing scrappy quilts is one way to have color. I can't imagine throwing out pieces of material...it just isn't in me.
You posted some awesome pictures Finn. Love your quilting style.
hugs
Wow, Finn, you are the quenn of kitchen sink. Every one is a work of art! Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring me once again.
Yup! You are definitely a scrappy kind of gal! 8-)
Love you quilts Finn!
Hope all is well with you!
Happy stitchings!
Absolute fabulosity, Finn! I don't know when I have EVER seen more beautiful quilt collages! They bring tears to my eyes..they are that beautiful in that kind of abundance! It only goes to show how much MORE beautiful scrappy quilting is than kits and store bought patterns. You are the woman, Finn...Queen of ALL Things Scrappy and YOU definitely reign as our supreme!!! Gorgeous!!!!!!
Sounds like a plan! Great idea -- I'll see what I can pull together.
I would agree, you have set the scrappy standard as far as I am concerned Finn...it has led me to making many, many fun quilts-most of them given away :-) thanks for the wonderful inspiration of your collages...finding them all in one place is wonderful.
OMGosh, Finn - I knew you were a prolific quilter, but these collages are just amazing! Hey, I'm impressed! Ya dun good!
Oh Joy! What a show and tell! Have a wonderful weekend!
Between you and Michele, what a wonderful way to create an online quilt show of amazing quilts. I love all the colors and visual textures that make up these scrap and scrappy quilts. There's a complexity that happens more readily than if fabrics are planned and purchased.
I've posted about a huge installation (14'x10') I'm working on that is made from mine and my friends leftover bits and pieces. I especially like the tiny triangles trimmed from half/square triangle blocks ;-)
You really are, a One Woman Show!!
Thankyou so much for sharing!!
